We bought the extended warranty that HH Gregg offered when we purchased our 50 inch hdtv......it was an expensive tv and we felt that if it broke, we wouldn't want to purchase the parts and service to repair it, just replace the entire tv.

Are you sure it was GE? HH Gregg switched plan administrators within the past 2 years. Either way, the store is not in the service loop. If GE, since they don't have the contract with HH Gregg any longer, they have no incentive to (quickly) pay and work with the local servicers. GE is still fully liable though. This scenario is typical with service plans anyhow. Next time, avoid the extended warranty and use a credit card that gives you an extra year free. btw, Panasonic TVs have very low repair incidence rates overall.
Get the District Manager's number - call and threaten to not only contact the President of HH Gregg but send your complaint to your state's BBB and Attorney General - non-performance of contract. they'll jump.
