Hillcrest Smog Test & Auto Repair ripoff, con artists San Diego California

I was in the process of buying a car, when the owner stated that some repairs were still needed to be done to it. The owner was also my landlord.

The owner had a mechanic shop that he favored, Hillcrest Smog Test and Auto Repair. I accompanied him to Hillcrest Auto, where he showed the mechanics and myself the trouble, and he dropped the car off there.

When the car was picked up, and when I was operating it, I noticed that the wiring that Hillcrest Auto had done was very inadequate. I could see myself that the wiring job that Hillcrest Auto had done was sub-standard.

I was purchasing the car for $1,100.00, and had paid the owner $1,000.00 of it. The wiring shorted out one day as I was starting the car, and the owner took the keys out of the ignition (it happened at his rental property), effectively repo-ing the car.

I attempted to sue both the owner/landlord and Hillcrest Smog Test and Auto Repair. I tried to do this myself, without the assistance of an attorney. Apparently, one or both of my defendants had friends that worked at the courthouse, as my mailings to the court would not be received or filed in the given time period. Both cases were dismissed.

The odd thing was that there was no remittitur against me. I didn't win the case, nor did I lose it, it was just dismissed by the court. I know that there was meddling in another case that I filed on my own against my landlord/car seller, as a court clerk attempted to insert him into a type of legal protection that made him immune from civil suit due to federal employment. He was not a federal employee at the time, and I knew that the court had not deemed him immune from suit in an earlier proceeding, rather he was listed as such by someone who had prepared the legal documents for filing. That could have only been done by someone in the courthouse, as he was also proceeding without an attorney.

The way that Hillcrest Smog Test & Auto Repair handled the repairs on the car that I was buying was mirrored in court by the way the case was treated there; both were done inadequately and improperly, with no satisfaction to the aggreaved party, which was me.
