Purchased a Suburban Jan 21, 2017. Around Jan 30, 2017 a week after purchase check engine light came Hola sent me next door these guys were a bunch of smart behinds and they cleared the code. So they sent me to F & M where they so called did a smoke test and repaired a small leak but the problem still exist. I have been to F & M every month since my purchase in January 2017 sometimes twice a month. On May 19th we are back at F and M and Hola does not want to pay for this part knowing we have been dealing with the same issue so we had to pay $121.98 for a canister vent valve dealing with the same issue because tighten gas light and engine light was back on and pressure still buildup. Every morning I have to pull over and take the gas cap off which is not safe because it's 6:20 am and it's dark outside and it has a lot of pressure which this part should have been  fixed. On June 6 I make it to work then the truck want start so now I'm stranded. My dad comes and checks the truck and we get a jump start now I have to leave work to check on this truck once again.

So I go to Autozone they check the Starter, battery, and alternator which are all good. I then try to crank the truck same problem it finally cranks after several tries.I then drive to the Chevy dealership so they can run some test. The service center hooks some device to the truck and tells me I have a code for the Canister vent valve that I just had replaced on May 19 I just paid to fix. I then drive back to F and M and sit for them to tell me they need to drop the gas tank but it can't happen until tomorrow. My recent experience was I was there again on June 6 and 7 check engine light again, and tighten gas cap light. My check engine lights continued to come on and F and M supposedly fixes the problem. My question is if it's fixed and all of these parts have been replaced canister purge valve, Evap canister, canister purge solenoid, gas cap, dropped gas tank and put a sensor in there and so on. I sit up there yesterday fron 8 until 4:30 when I drive off the check engine light comes back on. Now they tell me that I need to bring it back and leave it all day it was just there all day. The lady said we fixed it so Im not sure why the light is back on. Now the engine light is back on, stabiltrack and traction light keep coming on and losing power. This is causing an issue with my job because I have  to take off at least once or twice a month to take my truck back. Hazel was my sales rep. I would like my money back and I'm filing a claim with the BBB and I'm going to file a claim with the courts.

This truck is not safe to be on the road. I'm afraid it May stop in the road and my kids or grandchildren may be inside. On June 9th after my report with BBB Chris from Hola called and said they wanted to get me out of this truck. I told him I already have another car and that I would be bringing it to the car lot on Saturday. On June 10 my husband tries to crank the truck for 10 minutes it finally cranks and I followed behind him. The entire ride the stabiltrack and traction off keep dinging. We make it to Hola and I call Chris he tells me he will be there in 10 minutes that I can talk to someone inside. My husband and I go inside and she produces a paper for me to sign that I am giving then the truck back and they don't owe me anything and I don't owe them anything. I asked so want about my money. She said Chris just told me to have you sign this paper. I told her I wasn't signing anything because I want my money back.

Chris arrives and says well the truck is as is and we paid $3 hundred and something towards repairs we didn't have to do that. I told him Hola sold me a Lemon and I have been to the repair shop every money since Jan 30. Chris says well I wish I had known about this earlier what do you want Hola to do. I then told Chris I would like a full refund that is $2500 down payment, $2025 in payments, plus $350 for the alarm I had installed total of $4525. Chris looks on the computer at my down payment and payments and says when did you purchase? I told him Jan 21 he says I wish I knew about this let me call someone and walks out of the room. Chris returns and states I talked to our Legal Department they said they are not willing to give you a refund they will give you another car. I told him I just want my money back and that I would see them in court. He said maybe they will change their minds once they are served from the courts. I even offered to just take my $2500 down payment but he said No.

Buying a used car

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, June 30, 2017

FYI I know how to buy a car, and the car was checked out. The problems started a week after purchase. No worries the truck was trash and is no longer my problem. I have a new car with a very good warranty thanks Ford. I dont know if you just sit around and read other peoples post. You need a life or you need to read and stop coming off on people as if your prefect. If you know contracts maybe you should get a job as a lawyer, or someone who helps consumers not make bad decisions. Yes I know Georgia does not have a lemon law for used cars. This does not stop used car dealers from leasing trash cars. The post was so other buyers can be careful when visiting used car dealers such as Hola. I did have a warranty but it was only 3,000 miles which was not any good.

Thanks

Take it somewhere else

It's pretty obvious that the mechanic you are taking the vehicle to for repairs has no idea what they are doing. They could be doing nothing but resetting the system rather than fixing the actual problem.  Find a reputable good mechanic and get it fixed. Yes, it will cost you but it will be far less to take it to a good mechanic to get a real repair rather than to keep getting this fake repair.

It sounds like you don't know how to buy a vehicle (yet). Once you sign that contract, it is yours and the down payment isn't refunded unless the dealer engaged in fraud.  Mechanical issues are not usually fraud. Read your contract. The written contract over rides anything verbal the sales rep might have promised.

Also, lemon laws are for new vehicles, not used vehicles. Check your states statutes to see what applies in your state so you are armed with facts.  Take a look at your contract. Most used vehicles are sold AS IS and any maintenance and repair work is to be done by the buyer at their expense.  This is completely normal. Do your research.  I don't work for either your car dealer, or the mechanic but I know contracts.  To expect the dealer to pay for the repair is unreasonable unless it is written in your contract or is covered by a warranty on the vehicle (if you have one).  You can turn this around. A good mechanic is worth their weight in gold. Good luck.
