On 2-23-06 my wife and I decided to go on a 2nd honeymoon, just the two of us, we are both middle age, responsible people. We rented a 41ft house boat from Dave Manno, the operator of Holiday Cruise Yacht Charters, Routi INC. Cape Coral, Fla.
We were not allowed to leave the marina/operate boat. Anyway, my wife and I basically had two choices, either leave and loose our complete rental as well as all the food and supplies we bought for the trip or stay on the boat at the marina using it as a $350.00 per night c We stayed on the boat so we could at least use up our provisions. We tryed to make the best of it but were very disappointed as this is NOT what we contracted for. We wanted a "private" 2nd honeymoon with nature.
At the end of our rental, we called dave to come inspect the boat which we cleaned and vacumed giving it back to him exactly as we rented it. Dave came on board and we asked him if he was satisified with the condition of the boat and he said it looks fine but he would have to do a complete inspection and that takes 6 or more hours.
Approximately, 10 days later we get whats left of our Security Deposit after deducting $38.78 for fuel, (we never left the dock, $189.43 for blown stereo speakers, (not true, they worked fine right up to the time we left the boat) a penny size stain on the comforter which "WE" brought to his attention before he inspected the boat letting him know we did not do it. TOTAL DEDUCTION $263.21. After some investigation into this company and Dave Manno, I am convinced that this is his "MODE OF OPERATION", A FRAUDULENT practice to take advantage of renters that are generaly out of state and wont or cant afford to anything about it... If anyone would be interested in contacting me with any other bad experience or has any information that would help with a law suit I am planning, it would be greatly appreciated. Business' like this should not be allowed to go on ripping off unsuspecting consumers.

I called the U.S. Middle District Court in Tampa who handle Petitions for bankruptcy for Cape Coral/Ft Myers and Holiday Cruise Yacht Charters nor Ruoti Inc have filed for bankruptcy.

It's no question that Dave Manno is an unethical businessman, he pulled the same scam on me in June 06. My dealings with Dave cost me $1260.04 in non refunded security deposit.
I would enjoy helping you make a case against him. Do you know an attorney in Cape Coral that has prosecuted Holiday Cruise in the past. I see that Dave is no stranger at the Lee County small cliams court.
How can we find out if he has filed for Bankruptcy?

Don't waste your time with a lawsuite. They have filed for bankruptcy. Yet they have failed to notify this on their website.
There was an investigative report on Fox 4 news a week or two ago about them scamming a group of ladies wanting to rent a boat for a girls weekend. When they got there, there was no boat and their money was gone.
