Holland America Lines Ms. Sydney Leonor Absurd Hotel Charges, Seattle, Washington

I was ripped off by Holland American Lines.  I was charged over $300 for a one night stay in a Holland America owned hotel, The Westmark, in Anchorage. I was quoted $154 per night for a room stay prior to an Alaska Cruise.  I assumed it was for a room including two people.

Not so for Holland America, they charge you per person.  Paying $300 for a room in Anchorage is a rip-off.  When I realized what Holland America had done, I called the Westmark for a quote for a one night stay, 2 people on a Saturday night in May - quote was $139 plus tax.  So, as a valued cruise customer of HAL, I get to pay twice the normal amount quoted to a non-cruise customer. 

Beware of Holland America billing practices.  They make mistakes but absolutely refuse to make it right.  Their Guest Relations representatives are useless.  All they know how to say is "no".  I'll take my business elsewhere.
