Hollywood Tans At the Beach Sleazy and underhanded business practices hollywood California

Very simple. I signed a 3 month contract for $50 dollars a month. When signing up the girl explained to me that I must stay for 3 months. I said, thats fine. 3 months went by and the money was automatically taken from my credit card. After the third month, I had cancelled that card, but I decided not to renew my contract anyway because I just wanted it for the beginning of summer.

Well a couple months later I kept getting phone calls from a strange number, but I'm deaf and cannot use the phone so I just ignored it. Finally when I was with a friend, they checked my voicemail for me and said it was the tanning salon and I needed to call them back. So I called using an interpreter and apparently it was a collections agency saying that I owed over $200 !!! 

I explained that I had finished out my 3 months and decided not to go back. why would I owe them any money? If I had gone into the salon, they wouldnt have let me tan unless I paid them. So what the heck am I in collections for? I didnt get any service and I was finished with my contract. She told me that I never signed a cancellation. No I didn't, but I only agreed to 3 months. I haven't checked my credit report yet, but if they messed up my credit because of that, I will definitely file a discrepency.
