This is to notify you that you need to be aware this tanning salon does not follow-through and/or respond to consumer complaints (whether through store/corporate levels), does not follow tanning salon equipment guidelines! I have been a member for almost 3 years at this tanning salon, and have several complaints and poor customer service experiences which I want to share with you -- the purpose of this website.

My first experience was within the past 2 years I have repeatedly notified this salon that they do not maintain their equipment. I have told the "desk clerks" several times that there were loose, burnt out bulbs, was told "It would be taken care of and notated".

#1 was notated but had problem on my next visit to same/different booth 2 days later... after a few complaints it seamed to have ceased for the short-term

#2 was a few months later when the same incidents started re-occurring. This time was told the manager would call me back... she did several days later at my office. I was told they maintain their bulbs, and equipment... perform tests daily; was told "sorry for inconvience and could get 1 free upgrade to HT60 (highest booth level). Which I took. Again several months later.. same problems occured again!

#3 Was when my friend decided to re-join after a few months lapse. On website was advertised join 2 months and get 3rd membership fee free. At time of her join she was told this salon wasn't participating.. however after a call to manager - was told she would get 50% off after 2nd month's fee. Never happened. Contacted Corp. office left several messages -- a return call was made finally as during work hours my friend cannot accept personal phone calls, so I relayed info on behalf of her as a witness. Was told this was a franchise, and not much Corp Level could do except notify manager complaint was made and have request to have them call either I/my friend. This Never happened! After several visits my friend/roomate kept getting told cannot be reached on home/cell (called ID) never showed any calls nor were any voicemail(s) left from manager. Kept giving "correct" phone numbers as they claimed they had wrong numbers. Never got a call.

#4 Finally, and most recently --- Beginning July 2008 to current as I type this... I have begun to lose my tan. My mother who also has been tanning with my roomate and I just returned from Myrtle Beach and tans the same time/beds as I do... has gone from Brown to Chocolate Brown after her weeks vacation. Yes natural sunlight especially in South is stronger than "artificial light" but for $40 per month in the HT54 booths and almost 3 years of tanning... we are all losing our tans. We all have always used lotions, after tan lotions after showering, tanning accelerators as well as with a bronzer and/or tingle factor levels (2+), and no --- not there Expensive $60 plus lotions they are selling as a gimmick, but quality indoor tanning lotions from known brands, Hawaiian Tropic, Ocean Potion; etc. and have never had problems with these brands.

NOTICE: I have to commend a prior Head Assistant/employee - Randi --- whom does still visit and change the bulbs at this/Derby CT. store as I have been told. When she was working there during our first and second year prior to leaving we never had these issues. Were told several times during our visits "we just changed bulbs, you may want to reduce your time a bit" since her leaving to pursue another career; the above events started.

IE; loose, burnt out bulbs, tans fading, and complaints from us not being resolved. This salon has gone WAY down hill and fast. We are now being told they bulbs are being rotated not changed as they are supposed to be... and were in the past. Also, when they are changed/ they do the front bulbs first and then do the sides and back later.

I plan to be canceling my membership as a loyal 3 year member and quitting and going to another salon by the next month as I've researched and been told with good reviews; several membership options and beds/store is clean/maintained.

Please take this report seriously about this store/franchise... as they are not following what they used to do/nor should do according to the above as well as other research I have done. There are also several other reports and complaints being made on the internet via Yahoo Answers, etc.

Do a search... if you tan there, you are not getting your $$'s worth!
