Ordered a Haier HLP21E portable washing machine on March 26, 2010. Advertised as in stock and 3-5 business day delivery. When I didn't get a confirming email but my account was charged I called HEC and was told there was a delay in shipment and that it would go out the next week. That was a month ago. I emailed Haier and asked about the order and received no reply. It took three days to get through on the phone. HEC phone hours are 10am to 2:30pm and it is constantly busy.

The woman at HEC I spoke to confirmed the website lies about the product being in stock. Without mentioning the wording of the site I asked if the machine would be 'drop shipped' and was told yes.  I do pick and pack for a living. We take orders for others and ship for them. HEC doesn't have a warehouse or stock for this, they just take orders and send them on to Haier.

The advertised price is fraudulent, too. The advertised price is 179.99 but you can't buy it without a 19.99 wheel kit being added. There is no way to deselect that. I was offered a 5% "discount" and charged $10 for the wheel kit. I don't need or want the wheels. This is to be installed between a sink and the wall and will not need to be slid out for use.

I called Haier America customer service May 19 and was told that Home Elegance Center is a large dealer of theirs and that if I had any disputes to contact the BBB in New Jersey. I have filed a complaint for non-delivery with the NJ Consumer Affairs Dept. I was also told by Haier America that the model I ordered was discontinued in 2009. I could hear people in the background laughing at me at Haier customer service. Even if this is resolved with HEC I will not buy Haier again because they apparently know this dealer is causing trouble and refuse to discipline him for fear of losing his account.

I have sent registered mail to the business address requesting a full refund, since the order will never be filled. The website still lists the item as in stock and 3-5 day delivery.

The HLP21E has been replaced by the HLP21N according to Haier, but I didn't ask if it was the same hardware. I was told that the N is elegible for in-home service and the E isn't. I am trying to buy a washing machine on line only because local brick and mortar refuse to sell this machine or any like it. It does not require a permanent plumbing hookup. I live in a very small apartment and am sharing a machine with another unit.

HEC shares an address with Rezkom, a condominium repair/restoration company. Both use 11 Cindy Lane "Ocean" New Jersey 07712 as their address, but the Post Office says it is Asbury Park.

The building is across the street from a Lexus dealer/repair shop. Rezcom has an A- BBB rating. http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/home-elegance-center/r/11707/ According to these reviews, HEC has an F.

I was given refund by bank/merchant

June 1, 2010. I got a letter today from SunTrust dated 5/26/2010. When I called to ask what they wanted from me I was told I had been credited the full amount. The last letter the bank sent also took almost a week to go from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale.

The certified letter I sent to HEC has not been accepted. USPS.com only reports that they left a notice 5/22.

I hope this HEC gets its act together.
