I needed health insurance and used the Florida Health Insurance quote site. I put my info on the request because I have pre-existing condition and didn't qualify for Medicaid because I get too much disablility and that's what I needed to cover. I explained this to Doug from Homeland Healthcare when he called and told me about a policy that he had that could give me unlimited coverage and prescriptions, and durable medical supplies, even with pre-existing conditions. I specifically asked about prescriptions because I take several and I asked about Durable medical because I use oxygen, which I told him. He said this policy was an open enrollment group plan that he could get me into and that's why the coverage would be what I needed. Guess what, when I got the policy, it was a Limited Supplemental policy without the unlimited coverage he told me about. Limited prescription for generic only with a small discount for brand drugs, which I take 2 that have no generic. It has no coverage for durable medical supplies. and as I kept reading, I found out I'm not even eligible for the ppolicy becase I have to be "Actively working" and "not disabled". He flat out lied about everything to me and in taking my application, he knew I didn't qualify. Of course, he isn't in the office and no one has called me back. I faxed cancellation request but there is a line in the policy about not refended application fee. Well, I want it refunded because he took it under false pretenses. I haven't heard from anyone yet which makes me wary. If the company did not intend for the agent to do this, I would think they would contact me and try to work something out.
