Homevestors rip off misleading Oklahoma City Oklahoma

Mr. Connelly:

I am the owner of the local office (each of which is actually an individually owned franchise).

I regret that you feel upset at our representative's visit to your house.  Our company has purchased well over 600 houses in the Oklahoma City metro area in the past 15 years (and that doesn't count the other franchise offices in the metro).  I would estimate that 1% of the time we go searching for houses to purchase, and that 99% of the time we were invited to the home to make an offer to purchase the home.  Almost certainly, we came to your house at YOUR invitation.  And we came to your house at NO cost to you.  Usually, it only takes 15 to 20 minutes of your time.  We probably buy the house 20% of the time.  This means we got in our cars and spent out time preparting, traveling to and from the house at OUR expense. So to explain, we've been invited into well over 3,000 homes; and you say that your home was one we visited.

Unfortunately, we cannot make a significant offer on some of the houses we visit because of the condition of the house, especially in light of the health of the real estate market in your neighborhood.  Odd as it seems, occasionally houses we visit have outlived their usefullness.  Cast iron plumbing drain lines rust out.  Electrical systems deteriorate.  Heating and Air Conditioning Systems wear out.  Wood rots.  Foundations crumble.  Sometimes the cost to repair all these mechanical and structural sy stems exccced the value of the finished product.  And sometimes the cost of demolition exceeds the value of the lot.  You see it all over town, and most people understand.  We operate our company for profit, so it has to make business sense for us.  You paid us nothing, remember.

Perhaps our representative didn't use the most appropriate words.  Perhaps you are taking his off-hand comments out of context.  We will try to communicate better in the future.  If you would like me to personally come to see your house, I will.  I try to pay the most money that I can; but I have to be careful at the same time.  I have lost tens of thosands of dollars trying to "save" an Ugly House.  It doesn't always work out on my side of the bargain, I promise!

I do note that there is only 1 complaint from a homeowner in 15 years and at least 3,000 instances; but in any event, I object to your characterization of me and my company as a "crook".  Perhaps the mistake we made was simply being too straightforward.  Honesty isn't a crime, but perhaps we should have phrased it better.

The only time they use properly licensed contractors is when they get "busted". Some of the folks in the office seem okay, but the business practices are poor, the product is shotty and they have absolutely no concern for the future owner's safety or quality of investment. Is there no room for the licensed, qualified, experienced, hard working, honest, well priced good guys, or a homeowner who wants a safe, quality product in this residential rehabilitation market.

i have to say homevestors is a ripoff because i have had other people look at the house and they make me a offer they don't say just hand me the house on a platter.anyway i did find a REAL BUYER and he gave me a little less than what i was asking the buyer gave me half of what i was asking and due to the troubleing home market right now i decied to take the buyer's offer and run with it.when your a so called buyer you don't tell a seller wells its going to take this much to fix this or that its just plain rude to do that .and if i was a buyer and told someone its going to take that much to fix that or that much to fix this why don't you just hand me the house you know what the owner is going to tell me ? the owner is going to tell me to go on down the road.so its just plain rude to say that to someone. what it comes down to is homevestors wants to buy these high up houses for a little of nothing.we buy ugly houses ya right its more like we buy pretty houses for $10 homevestors in okc should be shut down . most likely this is not the first time they have said this to someone and made them feel bad.

Would you buy a car that you did not "inspect." You should never buy a house you didn't inspect either.
