I am yet another victim to the slick internet marketing scam perpetrated by Hoodia for free. I should have been more cautious, but like many of you ,signed on for the free sample. Once I received the second unwanted "auto-ship" I turned to my credit card company and found them" in bed with the merchant" or the bank ,I'm not sure which. I was told over and over agin I had to deal with the company directly and that they could only help me if we worked within the terms of the merchants agreement.
Despite MBNA dispute line admitting that they received at least three diputes a day about this company they were doing nothing to protect credit card holders from this ( and others I imagine) fraudulent business activity. The best they had to offer was" Miss I was not the one using my credit card with this company....you have to make sure of the terms before you use your credit card". When I loudly told the " agent" that , the obfiscated terms were part of the scam, he said "I'm sorry you'll have to deal with the company directly".
I feel doubly victimized. First by the Hoodia for free fraud merchants and then By MBNA.Do not use MBNA they will not protect you in disputes. And don't accept the Hoodia for free offer!!!
