Horace Mann Insurance Company, Luke Kassi, Chris Hansen Dishonest, Misleading, Slow, Rude, Rip-Off Phoenix Arizona

Back in April our car was totaled, but the insurance company decided to fix it to save them a few extra bucks, even though it clearly should have been totaled. We were not given an option as to where the car was fixed and were told that it would take 3 weeks...it took 8! The whole while our adjustor/agent did not keep us informed at all - we had to investigate ourselves. He never returned our calls and kept us completely in the dark about how are car was.

When we got the car back it did not work properly. We had it back for about a month, bringing it in for major problems 3 times. The last time we were told that due to the accident battery acid had leaked and eaten through all of our electrical. We contacted our insurance company, but it was 3 weeks later before they informed us that it was "still in review" whether they would repair it or not. They finally decided to total it after all, but it has taken 2 months for them to get the paper work going, leaving us without a car and having to use a rental. Our policy only aloud for 20 days of rental, but we were told and promised by our adjustor that Horace Mann would cover the rental costs "no matter how long it took, even if it took a year." It was only after we had paid $1200 out of our own pockets that they said never mind, we'll only reimburse you $400, we're not going to cover the rest after all. When our car was brought back in this last time, I requested that the the rental be covered and again we were told that it would be taken care of, but again after we have paid over $2200 of our own money, they have decided to only reimburse us $350.

We have tried to fight them on this, but all we have gotten are rude, accusing, false, misleading emails. So now we are without a car and out thousands of dollars. Every time that we threaten to seek legal actions, they say, "we'll see what we can do, we never said that this case was closed yet," but again, they keep us in the dark and refuse to pay what they promised to do.

We have been faithful clients of theirs for over 10 years. A year ago when another family member was in different accident, we had similar problems. The adjustor/agent would not answer or return our phone calls and when she said she would do something, she wouldn't. We have dealt with nothing but dishonesty and horrible business with Horace Mann!
