Hotel Monaco - Alexandria Kimpton Group Be Careful - Overcharges and Hidden Fees! Alexandria, Virginia

I am a regular traveller to Northern Virginia and the Hotel Monaco is going down hill in terms of service very fast.

Finally got into a room, TV didn't work, phone didn't work (had to call them on my mobile to come up to the room to fix things). And on the 4th and 5th day of my stay, NO WATER!!!

When you complain about service issues, they act as if you are inconveniencing them! It took them one hour (and two more calls) before somebody finally came to check things out.

Room service took one hour to bring a plate of french fries. Did they have to go to France to get them? No wake up call was received in the morning of my departure after having been booked the night before, and the breakfast order was not delivered correctly. Now, I know from previous experience that you need to make "allowance" for service... but ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is a very expensive hotel. The lowest room rates are $299 per night.

It sounds petty, but I overheard the staff complaining about the lack of reasonable pay. When you are dropping 3 large per night, you don't want to hear this kind of nonsense. 

Upper management needs to wake up and do something about their abysmal performance.

Don't ever stay at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria Virginia, unless you don't mind being overcharged for things you didn't even order and yes, I too was bitten by some sort of insects in the room. And 2 days without water, and they didn't even discount my rate! 

In summary, very disappointing. My opinion is that they took advantage of everyone who stayed there.
