NH KRYSTAL HOTEL SCAM! I went down to Cancun JULY 2009. Upon arrival to Cancun with a friend we were greeted by the aiport exit by a representive of KVIC offering free tickets in exchange to a 90 minute presentation. When asked if it was a timeshare I was assured that it was not. I fell into Krystal Hotel's scam by a convincing yet false International Vacation Club offer. At the hotel I was told repeatedly by representative Eric Guerrero of KVIC that this was not a "Timeshare" and it was nothing like a timeshare but better because there were no maintenance fees ever for the term of our exclusive membership with KVIC. Eric Guerrero, a salesman for KIVC, sold me on the idea of buying this exclusive membership and that there was a very high potential of immediately turning around and renting out all 25 of the weeks that they call bonus weeks from Krystal Cancun Hotel for a profit. He set me up with a brokerage firm that he said could easily re-sell/rent out the weeks. When I arrived home to my amazement and disbelief of finding out that I had indeed signed a contract for a timeshare which was for the "Gold" season and it was a "Biennial Floating Membership" which pretty much is for use of every other year on a timeshare and the "Maintenance Fees" of $661.00 would be imposed Biennial per "Each" week of use per year, which may be increased by action of the board of directors. Everything that I was told while I was in Cancun for a nice relaxing getaway turned out to be false. Specifically, that this was no way a timeshare and maintenance fees would never be imposed. I was constantly told of what a great return of investment this would be for me and that I should really sell my existing timeshare through his broker who was the best out there. Eric Guerrero also told me that my timeshare company in Florida was going bankrupt anyway and that I should relieve myself of this timeshare before I lose out big and that the money he could get his broker to sell my existing timeshare would pay for this exclusive vacation club membership. They finally pressured me into applying for a Bank of America Credit Card that I would get at 2.9% APR with monthly payments of $109.00, which fell through because of a lock placed on my credit in the past. I handed over another credit card where $5417.00 was charged with a balance of $9000.00 that would get approved on a later date by Bank of America at 2.9%. I was told constantly throughout meeting that I would easily with no problems get back on this investment in rental weeks which would pay off this investment with them itself and even make a pretty good profit within 3 years for a one time fee of $661 through his broker at regal resales & rentals who immediately list them and get them rented out. I felt so betrayed by the deceitful tactics displayed on why they would not just be up front and honest and just say it was a time share with maintenance fees to cover use of weeks used and not make it seem as it were this incredible offer. I do not want a timeshare, I own a timeshare and pay maintenance fees on that every other year now. If something seems too good to be true take a deep breath walk away and get more information on what you might be getting yourself into. Eric Guerrero said that if I were to buy a unit and then rent out all 25 weeks, I would be helping them by allowing for more expansion to be done to the hotel. I was told this would be a win/win for everybody and why wouldn't I do it. There was supposedly to be a high rate of return with this type of investment. I've been researching this and found that many people have been told and sold this same story.

Krystal Timeshare Scam

AUTHOR: TeresaSantos - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 06, 2014

The Krystal timeshare presentations are high-pressure and end up lasting over 3 hours. Regardless how many times you say “No”, they will persistently insist until you sign the paper. Many decently intelligent people have fallen victims of this scam. As a result of this operation, many Krystal timeshare owners are not happy with their purchase. For those who decide not to pay the high maintenance fees anymore, Krystal International Vacation Club has an agreement with a collections agency called Concord Servicing Corporation.
