1st of all, I appreciate the diligence of your goals to help us in our needs! I have excellent credit & have never been late on a payment. I had a credit balance of $279 on my HSBC (Household Bank)credit card.

I requested a check for the credit balance on Oct. 27, 2006. Never received it. Called to inquire & was told
that it had a stop payment on the check that was supposedly sent out to me. This was after one month.

To make a very long story short, A check was supposedly manually cut to me on Nov. 30th., no check! I called again, after 6 or 7 calls in a period of 2 months, was given every excuse in the book as to why it never came, as well as the supervisors being liars!

I am sick of this continual crap! please let all of the HSBC credit card holders know of these immoral & illegal practices! Please help me if you can!

HSBC CC SERVICES FINALLY RETURNED MY CREDIT BALANCE!!

YEAH!! AFTER WRITING A DEMAND LETTER TO HSBC AS RECOMMENDED BY MIKE IN RADFORD VIRGINIA I RECEIVED A CHECK VIA DHL SHIPPING TODAY AFTER 10 CALENDAR DAYS AFTER THE REQUEST! THANK YOU MIKE & IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THIS PROBLEM, THIS IS THE PROCEEDURE TO FOLLOW TO GET ANY SATISFACTION!

The reason I have not charged a purchase for the credit balance is because Household Bank HSBC erroneously reported my card as lost...which it never was or reported as! This popped up after the third call to them about the credit balance refund check to me. This was another excuse not to pay me! Then on the next call they said they had sent me another card, which they didn't. I have called a total of 9 times, with each time another excuse! It has now been 9 weeks with nothing!

I simply want my money and close the account & burn this card! Another reason I WILL NOT charge anything on this card is because I am afraid they will put any new charges onto the card because the balance has been ZERO from the time I first requested the refund check! I know this is what they will do because this company/bank/credit institution is unscrupulous and unprincipled with a lack of conscious morals in their conduct.

They appear to have contempt for the laws of right or wrong. These are their methods of making money, by taking advantage of me & God only knows how many other people they have continually tried to rip-off! Making interest on perhaps thousands of their customers money by doing this same exact thing! It is more than a scam, it is literally embezzlement! I am sick of this!

I appreciate the advice to write a letter to them,
which I will do & WILL EXPECT THE 7 DAY RESPONSE WITH A CHECK! Whatever happens I will report back here to the Rip-Off Report to tell you of any progress!

The easiest way to deal with a credit balance is to just use the card to buy gasoline, groceries, etc. (stuff you would've bought anyway) until the balance is down to zero.

If you made your request in writing, you do have a case against them because they are required to send you a check within 7 days by law. But if you try doing this sort of business over the phone, they can just deny you ever talked to them.
