Household Bank (SB), N.A. ripoff company must have ripped off thousands of others in this way Carol Stream

My Sears Home Improvement account was taken over by Household Bank without any warning or input from me, a loyal Sears customer. I received a bill from Household Bank and the payment due for every month will be $127.00. The contract Sears sold me that I signed, required a monthly payment of $87.00. I called the company at 1-800-391-6311 and gave them my account number. They told me they had increased my interest rate from the contract I agreed to with Sears, "but this is still a very good rate and with Sears it was too low." When I told them I may not be able to pay $127.00 monthly, and that is why I bought my home improvements from Sears; because I needed the low monthly payment of $87.00, I was told "it's to my advantage because this way the account will be paid off sooner." I said to the lady on the telephone, that she was very cheerful about this irate phone call from me, and didn't she feel just a little bit bad about representing a company that would and could do this to a customer - a new welcomed customer at that - and she said she worked for a very good company, and would never consider working anywhere else. She said what this company was doing was legal because if I read my contract about a year and a half ago, I would have seen that Sears had a clause in it that said they could eventually turn the contract over to some other company. What I would like to know is this; am I wrong in using the interest rate and the monthly payment amount in making a decision on which company to use for my home improvements? I had estimates from several companies. Now I have been ripped off by Household and Sears. Don't you think this must have happened to thousands of other Sears customers? IT IS WRONG!!!!!!
