While looking for a loan for surgery that I was needing, I was told by my surgeon to apply at mymedicalloan.com. I received a call from a Laura Grundy telling me that I was approved for the loan that I apllied for, she sent me a contract via fax, I read the contract several times and even had a friend look it over before I signed and faxed it back. In the contract it stated that I was required to make my first 6 months upfront as security collateral. Well after sending them my "security collateral" I was told that I would receive my funds the next business day by 5pm. Well after not receiving my loan proceeds i began to call the company several times, after not being able to get in touch with them I began to get scared. So I left messages, nothing, I contacted the Connecticut BBB, The Connecticut Department of Banking, and I am still waiting on the BBB to get back with me. I have since closed my account and reopened a new account, just for the fact that I was advised to do so. This company has scammed me out of 1700.00 and I feel like a big idiot for falling victim to this type of scam especially after I done my research. I would love to get a hold of the people who scammed me cause I would sure give them a good southern beating. Please don't fall victim to this company like I did, if I could get my money back and go after this company I sure would!!!

It's a scam.

If you haven't already, I'd let the surgeon know he's sending his patients to scammers.
This has all the earmarks of the Advance Fee Loan Scam. You didn't mention it, but were you required to send the money via Western Union or Moneygram? Was it sent outside the country? Those two things are sure signs that you've been scammed. When transferred through those companies, the money is not traceable. When transferred outside the U.S. that virtually guarantees that U.S. law enforcement will not have jurisdiction where the money was received.
It's unlikely you'll ever see your money again. You weren't dealing with an actual company. Just a couple of scammers with throwaway cell phones and public Internet access who were pretending to be a lending company. After awhile they'll dump the phones and recycle the scam with a new business name and new phone numbers.

Basically, anyone wanting to charge you a large upfront payment for "insurance" or "collateral" is trying to scam you. Real lenders don't work that way.
