Back in December 2017 i asked a  reputable mortgage firm, gracefinancialcapital.com to introduce me to some banks that would process an equity loan on a Coop unit that I own in Chelsea Manhattan.

I have been introduced to Alan Chau, a loan consultant at HSBC in New York, which he was supposed to get this done in 6- 8 weeks.

So I rushed to produce my personal tax returns of 2017 by February 2018, first day IRS would accept filing.

And here the nightmare started. 

We went thru endless rounds of documents, conditions, replies and answers to Sophia Mihalakis, the processor on this loan request.

Each round would have take 2 weeks.

Each time Sophia Mihalakis would get back almost with same questions, even with the CPA responses in her hands.

On the other side when I was trying to make some pressure on Alan Chau, by phone  or text messages he was just laughing.

In june the HSBC bank sent out an approval letter and a recognition agreement to my coop, by the let the deadline of the approval expire whiteout getting back to me.

Results I wasted 7 months, waiting for  response, wasting many hours of time putting together the answers.

In 15 years of business in Manhattan i never saw such unprofessional individuals, Alan Chau and Sophia Mihalakis.

If you want an advice, never ever go to HSBC, don’t waste your time to work with those two people, Alan Chau and Sophia Mihalakis, It was my worst  business experience, a true nightmare.
