I have had a small account which was Value City. They originally had HSBC as their account manager. first I had to log onto Value City, now defunct, and that would route me to www.hsbcbillpay.com. Just recently I logged onto this site and it was not available. Through much google search I found that their new name was www.hrsaccount.com. Calling these people puts one into a push button loop which I assume is to make the caller ticked off and hang up. for the past 3 months I have not received statements from them either online or via USPS. Last month and the month before I called, did get through, to make a payment. They will take those calls. Making a payment via phone they charge $15.00 knowing darn well that the caller is calling at the last minute to make payment to keep the account up to date. I paid the lousy 15 bucks including a late payment fee of $39.00 for a required payment of only $10.00. I was told my account was up-t0-date but lo and behold this December statemnt is showing a late payment fee again. My December payment was due on the 5th. I paid all this money on the 4th and was assured the payment will post in time. Yeah they took my money but now show that payment as being made on 12/08/08 causing yet another late payment fee. this month (December) I realized I did not get a statement so went online to look. It was there but not in my email-ever- nor never in the mail. Yesterday and today I called. I was told I could file for a hardship to reduce the interest & eliminate any additional fees. Yeah, another lie. Reroute!!!!
I am trying desperately trying to pay these people as a good citizen. I am on social security and that is it. Fellow AMERICANS we must do something to fend off these vultures and take action. While sitting here on hold with this company, they have offered me payments on a hardshojp at $5.00 higher than my monthly payment but at a reduced interest rate. What a scam- they will still get the interest rate but in a different way.
Okay, a supervisor...they do not have hardship programs but for $15.00 you can pay them to LOOK at your account to see IF you qualify for a hardship.
If you make your payment on time and online beware. It must be made on a week day before 4pm est and it will post that day. If made on weekend it will not post until the following business day which can put you into a late payment status. So if your payment is due on a Friday make that payment in the morning and not what time you made it and what time. That afternoon payment will not post until Monday after 4pm est.
Happy New year everyone.
