Huawei Enterprise USA - Rip Off small businesses Cupertino California

On April 1st, 2013 a Sr. Marketing Manager from Huawei Enterprise USA signed a contract with our company to perform interior design services at their Cupertino, CA office.

As part of contract negotiations they added following clause to the contract: "CLIENT, at CLIENT’S option, may terminate this Agreement with or without cause by giving written notification to DESIGNER. Upon termination, DESIGNER shall be entitled to payment for work completed through the date of the termination notice."

April 16, 2013 we received an email saying that they would like to terminate the contract. By that time we'd spent 64 hours working on the project doing research work, vendor coordination, presentation and back ‘n forth communication with the company representatives. We immediately stopped all the work and on April 18, 2013 raised an invoice of $1920 for the unpaid time.

Since then we have made several attempts to contact someone in the company. This includes multiple phone calls, emails and a written small claims 'demand for payment' notice. Whoever we've been able to contact, has either forwarded us to another person or made a fake promise that it'll be taken care off.

In reality no one really seems to care. They don't pick their phone calls; don't respond back to voicemails or emails. Last I heard from someone I should contact someone in their legal department (probably a scare tactics) but no one from that department has responded back either.
