I want to report on the horrible experience I had with the Huge Gold Event. Their website is hugegoldevent.com. Their owners are Phil Winn, Don Bowley, and Richard Johnson all from the Denver, Colorado metro area.
These people provide pricing that is around half of the spot value or market value of gold and far less than that for silver.
If you bring in $1000 worth of gold, you will walk out with around $500 and they won't pay for your diamonds unless they are huge diamonds.
All they do is send the gold into a refiner and the refiners pay approximately 90% of the value of the gold.
I should have sent my gold directly to the refiner. I would have gotten a fair amount of money.
People who capitalize on the ignorance of those of us out here who really really need the money are horrible scum. To me it is akin to price gouging. Taking advantage of those in desperate need. And now I heard that they are talking to churches and other non-profit organizations so the church for instance will get its members to bring in their gold jewelry to help raise some money... but the church gets only a tiny portion of the money due to these horrible business practices.
I hope that somebody puts a stop to these people. They should not be allowed to get rich by buying gold from desperate people in a horrible economy at prices far below spot value.
They are required to hold the gold for 30 days. It is my suggestion that you contact them at Rocky Mountain Gems and get your gold back and send it in to the refiner yourself. The refiners are very trustworthy and helpful and will give you a fair amount of money unlike scum who try to steal your money and take advantage of you when you are in need.
I also suggest that you contact the attorney general to report price gouging and file a complaint with the local Better Business Bureau and websites such as this to help ensure that these people don't continue to gouge unsuspecting people in need.

Getting 50-60% of the value on gold is a joke. There are several established coin & precious metals dealers in the Denver area that pay at least 70% of the gold value. You can find the value of gold on the home page of coininfo.com Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will find the value based on the current spot price of gold on 10-24k gold in pennyweight (DWT) or gram price. If you are not educated in regards to what you have to sell it's easy to get ripped off.

Refineries only work with companies, so since this company has operating expenses, I was off base. They have to cover overhead while helping people get their money for their gold. I guess they are alright after all.
