This saga began when I inquired with AT&T about bundling my cell phone, tv, and internet. At the time I was with Charter and was told to bundle I would have to change to Direct TV, which I ordered.

On Dec. 27, 2012 Direct TV came to my house to install service and dish. Within minutes a man knocked on my door saying he was here to set up my internet. I told him I already had internet with AT&T and asked who he worked for? He replied, "Hughes Network". His name was Michael Cash. I asked him if he was part of the bundling process and he replied, I just have orders to DO your internet.

Now I see  that I was foolish to ever let him in my house, but I assumed that he was part of the bundling process, and a few minutes later he was drilling holes in my office, running cable around the room and he and the Direct TV installer were conversing on sharing cabls as though they were team mates.

I again asked why he was running cable and drilling holes and he replied, " I am just completing a work order that I was given.

I had not given ANYONE any authority but AT&T and Direct TV for any changes. The installer had sign a post installation check list which said the work had been completed and that I had thirty days to cancel my service if I wasn't happy with it. He said I had to put $160.48 on a credit card, but it would be credited back to my account. It was just a formality. I put it on American Express, later disputed it and was imformed that they had ruled in my favor because Hughes would not respond or send any information they requested

I called AT&T. Their representative said there was no reason that Hughes Network should have been in my home, that Direct TV must have ordered it. I called Direct TV and they said they did not order it so I and the AT&T rep started trying to reach Hughes Network. We tried unsuccessfully for two weeks, being put on hold for always almost an hour, sometimes more.

Finally, I was able to get a number for their sales rep . I think her name was Courtney, the first contact of any kind with Hughes. When I relayed my story, she said this service was handled by Starz Satellite. She gave me a number (877)856-2199. ...company # 1..I tried on January 24th at 9:10, 9:30, 2:04, 3:48. On January 25th, 10:32. Other numbers that I tried were (866) 293-8949, (866)347-3292. ..Order # 668941. On January 27th, I finally reached a Cody Jensen in Joplin, Mo. ID#J47255.  He gave me a number in Texas, (800) 557-6122. I also talked with a man in the Philippines.I was told this service through a company called "Red Ventures"...company #2.. On January 25th I talked to Danica (855) 460-6683. She replied, "Hard cancellation-no grace period".

At this point I told them that I wanted tis service removed ASAP. I would return the two pieces in my house that they had left a box for..Ref# 34538739 cancellation. Another person gave me Case #34595882. Another retention department Case # 34538093 was given to me on January 25th. No one could ever coe up with the source of my order. The gentleman in Texas said it sounded to him like an "in house" scam. AT&T agreed. They were appalled. Both AT&T and I would be put on hold and then cut off after such a lengthy time.

On MAY 27TH I received a letter from Hughes saying if I did not pay $160.48 in 7 days, my service would be suspended. I never used their service. AT&T immediately had reconnected my internet. Now a collection agency, Joseph Mann & Creed is hounding me. I have awesome credit and am VERY upset. I had sent back three bills from Hughes, asked them to review my info and NEVER contact me again. Obviously it hasn't worked.
