I have a Hunter Fan.  The remote control unit model.  The light will go on and stay on, but not turn off.  THis is a very well documented problem with these fans on the intenet.  Any research will show many, many people hae same EXACT problem.  I called Hunter customer service, was on hold for close to 20 mintes.  Then I was told their lifetime warranty only accounts for the motor itself and only the motor.  That this part of the uni would cost me 58.00 plus shipping.   This is a crock and what is wrong with companies now a days.  They could care less about you fter you buy their product.  If I wanted a new fan then my call would have been answered right away, then they would have sold me on how good their product is and if something does go wrong it is under a lifetime warranty.   Once you buy their product they could care less about you or how their product stands up.  I am so sick of busineeses not standing by their product or caring less about the consumer.  Are there any good reputable businesses out there?  Please dont buy from this company, dont buy their fans, thermostats, etc.   So disgusted by Hunter and their like's now a days.

its unfortunate...

But the consumer has no one to blame but themselves in issues such as this. You as the consumer had a EXPECTATION of a Lifetime warrenty. You the consumer ASSUMED that the warrenty covers everything. When you check the box or paperwork for the fan you will see an asterix next to the Lifetime warrenty. If you go to the bottom of the paperwork were all the legalese is, you would find that the asterix states that its only the motor that is warrentied for that long. As it is the biggest moving part that would fail after a few years.

You are expecting this company to give you a NEW fan for your troubles. No company on this planet will do this anymore. A warrenty is only as good as the company that issues it. As such if you had a FULL REPLACMENT WARRENTY then they would be sending you a new fan. But since your warrenty is only on the motor you would have to pay for anything else. I say all of this so you can understand the reasoning around it.

This compnay has no clue what you have done to the fan. This company only has YOUR word that it has failed. As a business this company has to take care of its customers, but they no longer TRUST their own customers. That being said, they can not trust that what you are saying is the truth. Because of this almost EVERY claim is denied. And if it is not denied outright, then they want to inspect the product themselves to ensure youre not scamming them. This is the business climate we are in now. The consumer has screwed the companies over for so many years with fraudulent claims that they are now forced to protect themselves from the very same ppl that are purchasing their product. Im sorry you are dealing with this, but im sure if you go through the paperwork on the fan and check the packaging you will find that they have covered their asses quite well. Its on you as the consumer to FULLY read the warrenty paperwork. Not simply ASSUME that "Lifetime Warrenty" buzz words actually COMPLETLY cover the WHOLE product.

Now a days companies will not just give you something for nothing. Those days are WAY behind us. Your best bet is to just replace the broken part or get a new fan. Either way, if you purchase a new fan. Make sure any warrenty that comes with it actually covers everything.
