IADT is out to get your money and do not have your education in thier best interest Las Vegas Nevada

So this is how it started. I always wanted to be a fashion designer. In high school I had my own fashion design business and now have two fashion shows under my belt. I got very sick my senior year, and me being a straight A student all of my life, soon found my grade point average slipping. I was so upset that I had to miss school, but there was nothing I could do. I was worried about getting into a good college, and somehow I got accepted to Eastern Michigan's business school with a full ride scholorship. I wanted to take some time off before going to school, but Eastern was the school my parents went to and it was free so I went anyways. I then thought "Why am I going to business school when I want to be a fashion designer?" So I looked up schools on the internet. I found IADT LAS VEGAS, and it sounded prommising. So I applied.

There was no written work or paper work. All I had to do was call and have a phone interview with the head admissions person. I was automatically accepted. They charged me $50 for the application fee.

Then, two of my friends applied and we all moved out here because of the wonderful promises the school told us. At orientation I was a little uneasy. All they did was introduce themselves and we took photo IDs. My friend that came with me from Michigan felt a little uneasy too, so we started asking questions. They could not answer anything and had us sign papers in a hurry. I read the agreements and would not sign some of them....4 that really bothered me were

1) any ideas or creativity you have while going to this school is thier property.

2) We can not take legal actions against them.

3)They do not guarentee and internship or job after graduating

4)They do not guarentee credit transfers.

My friend and I thought we were being a little paranoid, this was a real school after all.

So the time for financial aid came along. I had already moved out here so if I could not get it I would be very upset. Many loans came back as denied, but they told me that I had to get loans or I could not go. So I applied for everything thinking it was 17,000-24,00 for a bachelors degree. I was wrong.

They had me on a payment plan of about 200 a month. All the loans covered the first semester, so I thought that that money was going back to paying off the loans. I WAS WRONG. they kept the money.

In the middle of the semester I wanted to drop two classes because I already took them at eastern. I called 3 people and no one called back. I finally got ahold of someone by saying I was someone else to the secretary and they then talked to me. THIS PROVES THEY WERE AVOIDING ME!

I found out they were charging 1,200 a class! 300 a credit hour! They lied to me the whole time I was enrolling, and and estimated bachelors degree with supplies is 70,000! More than the U of M!

So , I was upset and asked them if I could have half of my money back. They said no. So I kept going like an idiot so I wouldn't waste money.

I just recently was told by my friend that she did not get student loans and that she was making payments to the school. They told me I couldn't do that! The worst part is she dropped out around the time I wanted to dropp out and she only has to pay for the days she was there! THEY LIED TO ME AGAIN!

This is so unfair! SO, I confronted them and have not gotten a call back. The classes are middle school level classes and I am paying too much. They took out too many loans, lied to me...I was pissed.


NOW HERES THE MOST DISTERBING PART.

I was a little irritated, so I called some big fashion houses and asked them if they would hire from IADT. They said NO. THey told me if I wanted to work for them I should have a degree from FIT or other huge name schools. I believe FIT is about the same price. Then I called FIT and found out the credits from IADT will not transfer over! SO IT IS POINTLESS TO GO TO IADT!

I ran into a girl at the magic convention and she graduated from IADT. Guess what job she has now? A $9 an hour retail job. SHe is so angry and she is still paying off her loans and barely making it!

Here is my most helpful piece of info I got that proves IADT is out for the money.

They say you have to at least graduate high school or get a GED. THERE ARE KIDS IN MY CLASS THAT DIDNT GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL OR GET A GED!

In conclusion....through talking to other students, they had no Idea how much they were being charged. They thought it was 150 a credit hour as well.

This school is full of liars and thiefs!

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! its a fashion school, and they don't even have fashion books in the library! Everyone is nice to you the first week, but after the time is up where you cant get all your money back they ignore you!
