ICDC College They completely LIED! I already had an AA degree and they should have told me that they would not be able to do what I wanted. But I wanted a Drug and Alcohol counseling degree, so I did ALL the classes. I told them at the very beginning that I was going to have a problem with the externship because there is not a lot of facilities around my area. They PROMISED HELP. They promised they would help find a place and it would not be a problem.  Culver City California

Now, I have finished all my classes and all I need is my externship. I NEVER got any help at all, except a list of facilities in my area, all of which do NOT accept interns. Now, they got their money (they made sure of that, plus it's more expensive than my first degree by $30,000) and I DO NOT HAVE A DEGREE!!! I am on a leave of absence until October 11th and then if I don't have a site, they are kicking me out of my program even though it's their fault and I have a straight A average. I "may" be able to get reinstated, if I find a place, but it's all up to me. I never got the help they promised. I would like to find someone who can help me get my money back so I can go to a good school and get my bachelor's, which was my end goal to begin with. They didn't tell me that I would end up having to take ALL of these same classes over again to get my bachelor's degree. 

I was lied to.  I was told that I would be able to get my drug and alcohol counseling degree and be working quickly.  I was told I would be able to move on to a bachelor's degree.  I already have an AA degree, so this I found out is not true.  Also, they charged so much more than any other college to get a degree that I don't have because I need an externship to graduate.  I was worried about this from the beginning, and I was promised "we will help you find a site"  "we have many facilities in your area where we have already placed people and will be able to place you, don't worry about it".

Now, I have finished ALL of my classes.  I only need my externship to graduate and I never received any help at all.  They waited until the end, then said I had to go on a leave of absence until I find a place, and my leave of absence is up on October 11th, next month.  And, Sallie Mae thinks I have graduated, so they are probably going to start coming after me for money.  The college got their money, I did not get my degree.

I am so upset about this, because now that it's getting closer to my "kick out date", I have asked them why would I get kicked out of my program?  Any other school you can go to and take off if you need to, and go back any time you want.  So, this school is definitely a scam and I would like to find someone who would help me get my money back or solve the problem.  I am really upset because I have spent like $30,000 dollars, when my first degree was paid for completely by Pell Grants and one scholarship.

This is ridiculous and I would like to find some legal help to retrieve my money, because this school is a scam.  It is partly my fault because I fell for it, but the problem is I couldn't find any schools that would give me the degree I want, whereas ICDC has commercials ALL over tv, telling how easy it is to become a drug and alcohol counselor.  And the funny thing is, I have found a college that I am going to continue to try to get my bachelor's degree, but now I have to sink MORE money into it, when it should never have cost what they charged me to begin with for an associate's degree that I can't do anything with, plus I'm never going to graduate because i need this externship, which I also find funny because the college I am going to finish with doesn't even require an internship to graduate.
