iFix & Trade Saiid Broke my Iphone motherboard and Lied Sherman Oaks California

I broke the front glass of my iPhone and needed to get it repaired. The phone was still fully functional although the glass was shattered so on Wednesday evening I went to get my phone fixed at I fix and trade kiosk at the sherman oaks mall. (2nd floor)  the guy told me to come in at 6:30 and pick it up, when I arrived at 6:30 I saw my phone in several pieces and was told "he needed more time" and to come back in 20 minutes. I knew I was in trouble...When my daughter Natalie returned to get it for me 30 or so minutes later she was told the "phone is broken" I went to go talk to the guy and he tried to lie to me and tell me my motherboard was broken due to me dropping the phone.

 When I argued and said it was fully functional when I handed it to him and not to lie to me  he replied you are right we need to buy you a new phone.. I agreed, I said when? As the internet is where I make my living and needed my phone. (Back Friday and Cyber Monday were days away)  He assured me I could have a replacement on Friday and would call me once it was ready ... No call came in.

On Saturday my wife was going to the mall so she called I fx and trade ahead of time  and inquired about my phone. She was told the replacement phone would be ready by 8 pm on Saturday so we called at 8 pm to save a trip in case it was not ready as so far these guys have not kept their word once and they did not answer the phone for the rest of the night.

 I continued to call all Sunday and no one answered. Fed up I finally drove down there to pick up my replacement phone. When I arrived the guy said "we tried to get it fixed at Apple but because it is in your name we could not, I was told by my boss to give you $150 out of the register as a replacement phone will be $270... so basically he was still charging me for the repair he did not do $120  and I now had to take it to Apple and get it repaired myself. I also know that once a 3rd party opens any component Apple voids the warranty so I was most likely looking at a $699 (my original cost) replacement. not the $270 imaginary figure he came up with. the $270 would only be if you were replacing a damaged phone NOT tampered with at all.

As i took my old phone back the guy at the kiosk then said "oh and by the way don't tell Apple we worked on the phone"  I replied back "So now on top of breaking my phone, lying to me and keeping me without a phone for 4 days you want me to lie ? for what? I walked away not even taking his $150 as I knew the replacement phone would cost me full price. I set an Apple appointment which was 90 minutes later and just waited around. The more I thought about it I knew I would be paying for a new phone so I went back to the kiosk and asked him to call his boss. He handed me the phone and on the other end was an arrogant rude guy  "Zack" as the phone would not even power on anymore and before I went to Apple I wanted his boss to understand I needed to purchase a new phone most likely due to them breaking this one and they would be liable for it. $699 Zack replied "listen we are giving you $150 that's it" And hung up on me.

I then went to Apple and explained the whole situation truthfully  and came to find out they brought the phone in the day before and lied to them about the phone ever being tampered with and the phone was now in the Apple system as "denied" as Apple knew it was opened.  so nothing could be done anyway they were trying to get me to lie and not take responsibility for them breaking the phone.

Moral of the story do not use 3rd party vendors like this as they are not trained or certified and will not warranty the work. On top of that they are not even performing the work in a sterile environment ( I actually looked at starting some of these businesses a couple years back so I know what it takes to do it right) these guys are far from doing it right. I really would love for you to expose them in particular as I hate underhanded shady business people. These guys should not even be allowed to have a cart in the mall.
