ILD Teleservices, LOCAL BIZ USA ripoff, telemarketing scam, charging phone bill Rutherford New Jersey

My first knowledge of this was when I went over my phone bill and saw this $38.10 under "Charge Pass Thru"; a company called ILD teleservices, billing on behalf of Local Biz USA.

I guess some time ago we were contacted by this telemarketer to have a free website. There is no way we wanted a website. My secretary (temp) was asked many questions by this foreign speaking woman. She asked about 6-8 questions at the same time; the last one is something like "do you understand?". When my secretary says "Yes", that gives the OK to sign us up for 14 day free trial followed by $34.95 plus tax a month bill directly to our phone bill.

Obviously my secretary has no athority to OK this, but since she answered "Yes". I guess they now say she does. They do not have the "guts" to direct bill me. Instead hide behind the phone bill....which I do not always go over... glad I did this time.

When I called them, they played back the tape of my secretary's conversation (they were ready for calls like this...they know the game well). I could not understand the foreign female telemarketer, but she did ask what my secretary's jobtitle was, first and last name, birth date (for "verification only"???).

I was hot at that time. I asked the name of the person from ILD I was talking to... first and last. She would only give first and last initial. I them asked her birthdate....for "verification only". For some reason she would not give me "her" personal information.

If this is a legitimate company, they certainly have extremely shady practices.
