ILD Teleservices U.S. Credit Find Ripoff Unauthorized Charges On Phone Bill Unauthorized recurring monthly charge on phone bill Internet

I received a charge of $9.99 on my home phone bill from a billing service called 'ILD.' The charge is allegedly for services provided by 'USCREDITFIND.' I have never heard of this company, nor have I ever ordered anything from them. The company's webiste states that it provides 'credit repair' services. I have stellar credit and have no use for a 'credit repair' service.

When I telephoned the phone company (Verizon) to have the charge removed, they stated that they were just the billing agent, and I would have to talk to ILD--the phone company then transferred my call to ILD. Lo and behold, ILD is simply another billing service, who performs the billing for USCREDITFIND. ILD directed me to the website of USCREDITFIND. The website gives an 888 telephone number, which, if you call, allows only the option of leaving a message. No one returns your telephone call, and there is no fax number or email address. Right away that leads you to believe there is something shady going on.

I was told by ILD that someone used my email address to place an order. I find that hard to believe, because I have never received any confirmation, either by email or otherwise, from this company regarding any order. IDL tells me they will credit one month of payments to my bill, but any other charges need to be credited directly from USCREDITFIND. Good luck getting that done--no one answers the phone at USCREDITFIND and they do not have an email address. They have an 888 number that gives you an answering machine, but no one returns your calls.

I have sent USCREDITFIND a letter asking that they cancel any purported 'service' and refund the charge to my phone bill. I have also asked that they provide the internet IP address of the computer that allegedly placed the order, and that they provide me with copies of all materials allegedly provided as a result of said 'order.' I will update this report if and when I receive a response. From the shady character of the company's website and the fact that it is impossible to contact anyone there, I won't hold my breath.

I live in the Southern California area and USCREDITFIND lists a Venice Beach, Ca. address as the address to send all cancellation requests to, so I drove to the address and hand-delivered my cancellation letter. The address is a small studio apartment that appeared to be frequented by a man and a woman--the woman would not talk to me--the man told me that USCREDITFIND was not at this address but that they would be moving there soon. Uh, why then is the address listed as the place to send all cancellations? Yeah, sure, these guys are really truthful--NOT. This is all highly suspicious, and I plan on turning the entire matter over to the state Attorney General's office in hopes that they will perform an investigation.
