My AT&T phone bill had a different monthly amount. I identified the culprit as a $7.57 charge by ILD Teleservices. I called ILD and was advised this was a one time charge for world wide communications. PROBLEM. I have a block on my phone for NO LONG DISTANCE service. I definitely don't need any world wide telcommunication service. I requested a refund and was advised that they would mail one to me in 7-10 days after they received my payment from AT&T. I then demanded a refund NOW. I am on a fixed income. I track the bills to the penny....extra money goes for medical coverage, which includes prescriptions. It is very upsetting to know that ILD can fraudulently bill me via AT&T as a third party.
I now know the definition of cramming charges. I am appalled that in Oct. 2008 companies like ILD are allowed to take advantage of the elderly in this manner.
