Impact Guns Buyer Beware! Ogden Utah

When chosing to do business with this company beware! Their customer service is terrible. They are slow to respond to emails, although they state it is the fastest way to get an answer on existing orders. Before placing your order it is easy to get a live person to talk to though. Also, the lead times they state on their web site are not accurate, nor is the information that they give you before you place your order.

I placed an order through the website on 8/9/08. I had read on one of your rip-off reports that a customer had a problem with overbilling on their credit card and was having a problem getting it resolved, so I chose to pay for my order with a check. Before mailing my check I called Impact guns go check on the availability of the pistol (which they advise you to do.) I was told they had this gun and they would ship it to me once my check had cleared and they had received FFL from a local dealer that I wanted the pistol sent to. This was reasonable enough. I went to our local pawn shop and they faxed the required documentation on Monday, 8/11.

My check cleared my back on 8/15. Since I did not get a notice that this pistol had shipped so I sent a follow up checking on the status on 8/20. I got a reply from them on 8/26 saying that they received my check on the 14th and ordered the gun from the supplier the same day. They expected to receive it within 2-4 weeks and would ship it as soon as it was received. I had wished they would have stated this lead time when I called before placing the order as because this was NOT what I was told!

I still had not received my merchandise by 9/5/08, so I decided to once again check on the status. Before I sent them my email I checked their website to see what they said the availability was on this gun and it said it shipped in 5-7business days. I noted this on my email to them.

On 9/9/08 I received their reply which stated when you send in a personal check they hold the order for 14 days, and that was the reason for the delay. No one ever mentioned this to me before I placed the order. They do not state this on their website. Every time I contacted them I was told something else, but even if this were the case, it has been well over 14 days (today is 9/11/08) and the pistol still has not been shipped.

If you decide to place an order with Impact guns, I just wanted you to be aware of my experience with them. I stated in my last correspondence with Impact guns, had I been aware of their lengthy lead time, their 14 day hold on orders if paying with a check, I would have made my decision based on these things, and I probably would have bought this gun elsewhere.

I won't do business with any company who isn't honest about their business policies, availability, has poor customer service, and when you do get answers they keep changing the facts. I will never do business with Impact Guns again and I told them so.
