Thank you for all the informative reports on your site. I was sold "a holiday" by this company. Realized it was probably a scam as soon as I put the phone down. The money had already been taken from my Visa account. Contacted Office of Consumer Affairs in Ireland and am in the process of writing to this company requesting a refund.

Does anyone know the Fax No. of Imperial Majesty Cruise Vacations, Commercial Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale? I would be very grateful for this information. It would appear this company reinvents itself and is continuing to misrepresent what is it selling. I want my money back and intend to pursue this issue as far as it takes. Any advice would be welcomed.
In particular: Is there a Fax No. for this company?

Have no phone number that I would rely on or email address.

Anyway, do not intend to waste either time or money by phoning these professional misrepresenters. I am being deliberately reticent in this report but will report more fully at a later date.

I have clicked on "Ramada" in step 5 as it is closest in name to the company I believe deceived me. However, since I understand there is a reputable hotel chain called "Ramada" (?) I fail to see why such a company would not take action against these people/imposters who would appear to be tarnishing their good name. This is based on reading of the experiences of numerous people who went on these holidays. Is there is fact an hotel group called "Ramada" that is reputable?

How can a company be a scam? what we're goin to take thousands of dollars off of your credit card? Apparently none of you are familiar with Zero Liability.. if i take your credit card number and max it out on a shopping spree , without your authorized signature the bank will have to reimburse you your money. The package is not a scam ... i send out the holiday packages myself and i secure tickets myself. U ask why does Ramada allow their name to be used by Imperial Majesty .... well heres a though ... we are travel partners.

Call you credit card company and they will tell you that we have a merchant account with them ( visa, american express, mastercard ) and they will vouche for our company. Dont believe me here ST30427 that is our companies registration number. I read one of you reports and i seen someone said that u asked for the employee number and they put u on hold for a moment... now see ur lying ... on every call we are REQUIRED to give our employee number , it is sitting directly in front of us.

So whether u feel that we're just out to "scam" all of ur money away ... which is impossible by the way .. or you just want to go with the flow and say its a scam ... either way, i know my company is reputable and offering a package that you would be a fool not to take.

Reply to Linda in California re refund from IMCV/Ramada Plaza Resorts

AUTHOR: Mary - (Ireland)

POSTED: Monday, February 21, 2005

I hope you see this - I am having difficulty negotiating this board and where to post this.

Yes, I believe you can get your money back too from IMCV/RPR Linda - as I did. Please read carefully paragraph #5 of my report posted Feb 15th '05 which described the letter I sent. In your letter state that you cancelled within the COOLING OFF period - whether you did or did not.

They misrepresented the holiday sold to you and therefore were in default of US Mail Fraud Laws as well as consumer protection laws. (It was their responsibility to inform you of the cooling off period.) You should be entitled to a full refund. And remember, be polite and that 'less is more'! The letter I received was an apology as well as the refund.

Write a letter similar to mine and mark it for the attention of the two people I mentioned. You should also Fax a copy of the letter. I gave two fax numbers and one of them works.

Good luck.

PS Does anyone know if this company/agency truly represents the Ramada Hotels chain which I understand are in fact luxury hotels?

Hi Mary I have also bought this package and did not know that it was a rip off until just recently. The bad news is that I bought it about a year ago and was just wondering if you know if I am still able to get my money back.

mada Plaza Resorts

AUTHOR: Mary - (Ireland)

This is to inform you that I have succeeded in obtaining a full refund from Ramada Plaza Resorts - one year after being subjected to their persuasive telephone selling. Normal antennae were disabled at the time. I sent my letter and the refund was made to my credit card account within eight days. I can't say how pleased I am. Took advice from Consumer Affairs in Ireland. This is what you do:

Write to: Imperial Majesty Cruise Vacations, Reservations Dept.,
2419 East Commercial Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308-4042.

Mark the letter for the attention of: Mr Daniel Lambert and
Ms Gena Johns. Fax the letter as well as posting it. You will find their Fax No. if you search this site. (see below)

In the letter just state the facts without threats.

Inform them that the holiday they sold you was misrepresented by their company or its agents. You should also state that under Distance Selling Legislation there is a "cooling off period" of seven days and that you cancelled within that period. Then write:

"This letter is a formal Demand Letter for relief relating to
Ramada Plaza Resorts' wilful, unfair and deceptive marketing practices.

"You are in violation of the Fair Business Practice Act. You are also in violation of the United States Postal Services Mail Fraud Laws as you have used these services to further your scheme"

You should end by writing that if they do not refund the amount taken from your account, you will communicate the matter to the Attorney General's Office and to Mr Charles Bronson, Florida Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Services.

In view of what I read here about that "holiday" it sounded like a nightmare. Good luck to everyone.

Mary

I have located two Fax Nos. (954)567-9339 and (954)568-3847.
One of them seemed to be non-functional.
