Oh my God!!! I'm sitting here crying due to my belief in two young looking guys in a blue van with a logo, who seemed nervous in selling this MILLENNIUM THEATER SYSTEM! I was in front of Babies R Us in Long Island City, Queens, NY and two seemingly nice young guys asked me if I would like a state of the art theatre system because their boss accidently signed off on one extra system than he was supposed to. I insisted that I didn't want to purchase, but then one guy, this one was named Ronnie, showed me his clip board, the company he worked for, his uniform, a magazine where the speakers were advertised for at $2,995, he also took out a couple of speakers, and the "most expensive" part which was the dvd player and made me feel confident that this wasn't a fake transaction with a box full of bricks.

He even made me believe that "I" looked trustworthy and nice and that he would put the speakers in my car and we can go to the bank and get the money... he insisted that he was legit and seemed nervous as if this was the first time he'd ever done this. When I gave him the money, Ronnie made out a reciept, and the other guy said that I need to make a copy of the receipt to include when mailing in for the 3 year warranty inside the box.   Now, of course I look for these expensive speaker system and find it only on the website of which the receipt mentions. ONLY. can't find the speakers anywhere else.

I have not tried the system yet and am praying that AT LEAST IT WORKS! But I just spend $500 of hard earned money for being stupid and believing in something that seemed too good to be true!

What made me so angry also is that they saw me with a 1 yr old and being frugal looking at coupons for my subsequent shopping for my child's baptism and that i would use this system to have a bit of music on the reception portion of the celebration and the 2nd guy mentioned how he has a 7 yr old boy that he would do anything for. To have no heart, just stand there and take advantage of a young mother with a child hoping to economically get something worth so much to surprise her husband with and just take my money knowing very well that this is a scam. It breaks my heart and I hope that one day karma catches up to them, because as easily as the money might have came to them this time, it GOES JUST AS EASILY.

I'm embarrassed and ashamed to even post this and hope that one way or another, I'm heard, and empathized with and be helped in any way.

The guys will have a happy thanksgiving this year when they prey on innocent hard working people who don't know any better.

Got scammed the same way by same company, guy told me I looked "trustworthy"  was shown a cataloge with crazy prices and invoices.  Was told guys back at the shop get first pick of leftovers but he wanted to get rid of them sooner.  Paid $250 for a system. Worth about $50 tops, maybe less. I felt sooooo stupid and duped when I looked it up.  Did the system you buy actually work???
