Purchased Cingular Wireless plan and Motorola V3 Razr phone from www.cellularchoices.net because of rebate offer. The first offer was a $50 wireless device rebate. Mailed in complete list of required information during the exact time frame specified on rebate claim form on June 15,2006. Checked website for status 3 weeks later and site stated no claim found. Called hotline and was instructed to mail all forms a 2nd time. Mailed information and rebate form again on July 12,2006. Received rejection letter on September 23, 2006 for bogus reasons. Kept photocopies for verification. Called hotline again on September 27, 2006 and was told to disregard letter. Rep stated that rebate claims center recently moved from MN to AZ and that was the reason for the delay. Mailed $80 customer loyalty rebate on October 2, 2006. Checked website on November 20, 2006 $50 rebate still processing, $80 rebate not listed. Called hotline again-same excuse. I stated to the rep that I am filing complaints with BBBs and the FTC. We will see if rebates are now honored.
I work for a fortune 500 telecom which resells Cingular to our landline customers. I do not live in my company's landline coverage area, otherwise I would have purchased my wireless package through my own company. I have informed our Cingular wireless contact of this scam. Once Cingular is notified, they should be obligated to break ties with such resellers. If they do not, I will be cancelling my Cingular plan after the contract date. I encourage all of you to do the same.

Literally within days of filing a complaint with the BBB, I finally received my first check for $50. I'm still waiting for the $80 loyalty rebate. The website claims it has been in processing status for a month now.
If nothing happens in the next few weeks, I will file another complaint with the BBB and hopefully get the same results. What a shame consumers must go through this. With media coverage of all things considered "white collar crime", I'm surprised this scam-artist company has not been exposed on a show like Dateline or Prime Time. They should be shown for what they are. And companies who do business with them should be held accountable as well.
