I was told I would receive a rebate for 2 phone purchase in the amount of $150 per phone. When the phone arrived a few days later the rebate form was included but the fine print precluded me from submitting the rebate paperwork until 180 days had elapsed from the September 6, 2005 Activation Date but, not more than 210 days from the September 6, 2005 Activation Date. This 6-month waiting period was not disclosed to me when I purchased the phone and signed up for service with Verizon.

Any reasonable person would consider this omission on your part an unfair and deceptive act. I submitted my rebate information on March 24, 2006 via first class mail; I faxed all information April 4, 2006; I have sent over 25 email messages, only to hear back from this company that this will be processed in the next 10-12 weeks. This is deceptive business practice.

5-18-06...(FROM DOREEN DENNIS)

Thank you for sending me your submission information. I pulled up your account and can confirm we received and are currently processing all four submissions. Processing generally takes 6-8 weeks from when your information was data entered into our system. That puts us approximately 2 -2 weeks away from completion of the processing stage. So far everything looks good and there are no denial errors. You may continue to monitor the status. Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.

6-19-06...(AGAIN FROM DOREEN DENNIS)

Thank you for your e-mail and I'm sorry and not sure why you filed a complaint with the attorney general and the FTC. Per my system records two $100 checks for rebates on order 341xxxxxx were mailed May 25th and show cleared by the bank. Did you receive them? In addition my system is also indicating all (4) rebates for order 574xxxxx were approved and four checks in the amounts of (2) $75 and (2) $125 are set to be mailed in 3-4 weeks. I believe that will cover both orders. Is there any additional information you require or do you have any further questions?

6-29-06... I now have received today a lie from Doreen Dennis that I have already cashed 2x$100 rebate checks, that were cashed in San Antonio, TX.

Here's the catch though........

1) These are not my rebate submission numbers.
2) This is *NOT* my signature.
3) I don't have a bank in San Antonio, TX
4) I don't live in San Antonio, TX

I purchased these phones in September, 2005 and it has been almost ___10 MONTHS___ AND NO REBATES...
How many more complaints does Inphonic want to entertain against it as a company, before the practice of rebate runaround becomes settled with consumers, like me? How many more complaints need to mention Inphonic, Inc. with the FTC before the rebate department that Inphonic employs does the right thing with the American consumer? What monetary value does it take with a class-action lawsuit to get the attention of Inphonic?

$1 Million/$50 Million/$250 Million/$1 BILLION + ???
Please email me Doreen and let's get this settled.

UPDATE---JUST RECEIVED MY REBATES...HERE'S HOW!!!

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 06, 2006

I just received my $400 rebate on Saturday, about 1 week after it was promised to me. I have sent over 50 emails over the past 4 months to inphonic customer service, Jon Delahay, Doreen Dennis, among others.

I finally got a call from Fatou (Fattoo is how you say it) at 1-888-843-2558, and she promised me the rebate within 72 hours. It actually took 1 week to receive it, but the thing is....I FINALLY GOT MY REBATE CHECK. Inphonic is nervous with the class action lawsuits pending as well as the lawsuit from the D.C. Attorney General.

I purchased my equipment in September, 2005, submitted the rebate between the 180-210 days that they require, and after getting the run-around from Doreen Dennis for months on end, got the call from Fatou. (She is like an angel after this craziness that has gone on for too long with Inphonic)

Best of luck,
david
