I was contacted by this company from a job board I signed up with, and was told how glamourous and easy the job was.  I then had to pay for my test, and insurance licensing!  Once I finally was approved for an insurance license, I had to learn the products the company sold, while waiting to be appointed with those insurance carriers.

Getting appointed takes a few weeks.  This whole time I was studying for my license, studying the products, and waiting to be appointed, I was not paid.  This is commission only.  If you have a good savings account, and can go at least 2 months without pay, then this may be the job for you.

I was told that there was NO cold calling.  We only deal with warm leads, only people who seek us out.  Haha.  After almost 2 months of no pay, I was then told the best way to make appointments was to cold call as many people as possible.  If you are not making 200 cold calls a day, you will not get far.  Out of theose 200 calls, you may make 1 or 2 appointments. Those "warm leads" have to be paid for.  Guess who pays for them? YOU!  they cost at least $10 each, and they are people shopping around online just wanting a price of policy.  They are also being called by several other people, so try to be the first to call them!  So the $10 you just spent for that 1 warm lead, is wasted.

The office manager gets paid for recruiting.  It does not matter to him how much savings you blow through.
