This company sent me a disturbing email stating that someone ran a background check on me and offering to tell me who. I am old and retired. Can't imagine who would do that, but users might like to know that if you check someone they may be notified and offered information about you for a fee.

Instant Checkmate utilizes third party companies for online advertising, so the email did not actually   come directly from Instant Checkmate. It came from a completely different company that is payed to advertise for them. All searches done on the site are 100% confidential, so if anyone were to run a background check on you, there would be no way of knowing that.
