instantcheckmate.com claimed that for $1.00 a one time search for a person would be performed . They charged $30.00 for ever . Nationwide

I saw an ad on the internet saying you could look up lost friends for nothing . When i tried it , they said I had to join , then said I needed to subscribe and the total would be $29.00 per month . I clicked on "no thanks " and tried to close the page , then they said I could do the  one time thing for a dollar , I clicked "ok" .

Gave them my name and email address , then paid the dollar .

After that they said I had to join , I clicked "no thanks again " and closed the web page .

I DID NOT JOIN ANYTHING !

I looked on my PayPall account , they had charged me the dollar plus a monthly charge of $29.63 until I should cancel by calling the toll free # .

I cancelled on Pay Pal  and called the # and cancelled there .

Had I not checked my account , I would have been charged the money .
