I found IAMP on the internet while searching for a ultrasound school in ga. As i did my tour to enroll and view the school, the workers sell you on a dream- a $30,000+ dream. I was informed the school was in the process  ( they said usually takes 6 months to recieve) of getting the correct accrediation and certain qualifications. THe school told myself and the other students that they had all up todate equipment for the students to practice on in lab classes, registered through RDMS teachers or instructers, plenty of off site clinical offices, after graduation help with job searching, and so much more. Of course being a person who is not familiar with all the us terms and qualifications before i actually enrolled and came across techs in the real world this all sounded great and true. I had no idea the machines were 25-30 years old and the only 1-2 turned out to actually be up and running during the actuall 1-2 hours a week we would even be able to go into the lab to scan. I had no idea that we would have teacher after teacher for just  class, or that our very own inrtuctor would not even know how to scan or show us how to work the machines. When i enrolled and started i applied for fasfa because of my own personal income i was only granted $3000 and the rest was up to me to get a loan for. I ended up finding a laon company that covered the rest of the money and was told all my fees were covered.I did not think that 2 weeks before fininshing with the course the school would contact me and say that the new finacial aid rep ( the 3rd one since id been enrolled in the program) had found a error all of a sudden  in my paper work and that i needed to come up with $5000 before i am done or i will not graduate. The waythe program works is you are supposed to go to a certain clinical site for $-6 months just observing to see what it is like and get your feet wet, then move onto a new facility were you are to be working and scanning and learning. i was at a site for 4 months shadowing untill i got moved to a new one where i did not scan at all, the tech was way to busy to let a student scan ( she told me she informed the school she was too busy to let people scan and they still sent her students) so fortuanally i became friends with the tech and was able to stay after clinic hours to scan friends or volunteers (after hrs is 6pm). I have 4 classmates who were finished weeks before i was in the program and have not yet to this day recived there certificate (supposed to come in the mail 4-7 weeks after final exit interview) it has been since Jan-Feb. It  is now JUly 18th.
