I purchased a vehicle and the same day I added this vehicle to my policy. I got full coverage insurance. This company did not put the lienholder (GMAC) on the policy and did not notify them of my policy.

As of today GMAC is tring to charge me full coverage insurance thru their company, which I refuse to pay since I have full coverage on this vehicle...

It is not my job to notify the lienholder. This insurance company and I have went round and round. GMAC has placed the outstanding balance on the credit report of my mom, who co-signed for me.

I have explained this to GMAC who refuses to contact 21st Century General AGENCY Inc. and I have spoke to my agent, Carolyn Paulette Thompson and her husband Mike and their son Robbie. They keep saying they will notify GMAC and send them a copy of my policy from 2 years ago and they will straighten this out , but I have been sent threatening letters from GMAC that say they are going to come get the vehicle.

I do not know what to do. I can not afford legal help.

In response to rebutal #2 Not 21st Century Insurance group

AUTHOR: kingfisher - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Yeah! 21st Century will give you the lowest price for the 1st year. I have both my house and auto insured with them and have never filed a claim for either. They always find a way to raise the premium on on or the other sometimes both. The second yr. I was with them they raised my auto insurance I had to argue to get it reduced stating that I am retired and only drive 6500 or less a yr; which they already knew. The same with my house the 1st year it was well below any other quote then they added computer protection which I let slide. This year they're raising my home owners insurance up another $60, I got my renewal policy which had some BS on it about a past claim and that's what my premium increase was based on. I contacted APLUS who supposedly reviews their clients credit history and insurance claims for them and the report I got from APLUS had nothing on it regarding a claim or anything regarding a bad credit history report ( I think my credit rating is above 700). I recently purchased a new vehicle and when I requested a quote from 21st Century I got quotes ranging from $587/6 mos. to $624/6mos. I got the best price when I called their 800# I pay less than $400/6mos. My homeowners policy was originally just over $300/yr. its now up to $402/yr. with no improvements to the home or any changes to my policy, and no claims ever filed. I think the only claim I ever filed was in 1997 or before when I was insured with AllState, and lived at another address, the claim was for less than $400. You figure it out!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I'm now looking to replace both my home and auto with another insurer.

Not 21st Century Insurance

AUTHOR: Bubba - (U.S.A.)

The agency you mentioned may share the name, but it is not THE 21st Century Insurance Group.

21st Century is not a general agency but the actual company, which does sales only over the phone or internet. Sounds like you are involved with a local agency that has a the same name.

Try giving the real 21st Century Insurance group a call if you want excellent rates and service

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Take the policy down there yourself

AUTHOR: Preston - (U.S.A.)

You should have a copy of the policy filed which will have the effective date of the policy. what you need to do is photocopy the PAGE OF DECLARATIONS and send it certified mail to GMAC stating there is in fact a legitimate insurance policy on the vehicle and they cannot force additional insurance on you by law.

It is not GMAC's job to contact the insurance company. It is not 21st Century's job to contact GMAC. IT IS YOUR JOB! You are the common thread between the two and the two will act independently.

Keep records of all correspondence between all parties.
