In 2002, this company kept calling my father, a widower on limited income, who finally "caved in" and purchased windows from this company. They only sold him windows for the second story of his home, which is over 120 years old. In total there are only eight windows installed. The cost was $8157.00!! That's over a thouseand dollars a window, and they are all small windows.

None of the his children knew this was done. My father passed away on January 13, of 2004. I have tried to get this company to give me the full information concerning these windows, but they do not cooperate at all. I have been trying for over eight months to get them to justify this expense. They promise to send me all the details of the contract, but never have.

I realize I have no "legal" grounds to base a claim, but if I can prevent one person from being ripped off by this company, then my effort is not in vain. If you email me personally, I will provide you with more details, it gets worse, but there is not room to elaborate.

Rebuttal to complaint from children of customer

AUTHOR: Integrity Construction Inc - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 07, 2009

In response to the complaint filed against Integrity Construction concerning deceptive business practices (taking advantage of an elderly father), I have been employed by Integrity for over 11 years now.  Mr. Mahaffy contacted our company about getting an estimate for our windows in 2002.

Since before I even started at the company, Integrity has a strict policy concerning all prospective customers, regardless of age, where we specifically ask if the customer wants or needs someone else present during the estimate who would help them make their decisions, whether it be a relative, child, parent, neighbor, etc.

Mr. Mahaffy was in his right mind and if there was any sign that he was not able to make his own decisions, our sales reps are trained to leave the house or ask if there is a relative or friend that would be willing to be present to reschedule the appointment.

Mr. Mahaffy was happy with the windows and our company while he was living.  It wasn't until several years later when Mr. Mahaffy unfortunately passed away that Mr. Mahaffy's children called to complain about the price of the windows.  They did not know that Mr. Mahaffy even got his windows replaced, which is really odd to me that none of his children were in his home within 2 years to see that he had his windows replaced.

As far as the price, Mr. Mahaffy was a very intelligent individual and decided to put triple pane windows in his home.  If he did not want his children involved in the decision, that was his choice and I'm sure he had his reasons for this.  And as far as the sizes, his children claim they are all very small windows.  In our records, it shows 2 of the windows were 3 section sliders that were 62 1/8" by 53 5/8".  I consider a 3 section slider a larger window, especially when it is approx 5 foot by 4 foot.  We would be happy to provide copies of the order forms to show the large sized windows.

Our manager even offered Mr. Mahaffy's children that he would schedule an appointment to meet with them and show them why Mr. Mahaffy chose to install a better quality window and we would even set up each window sample of the various degrees of quality to show them why the windows cost what they did.  Of course they would not spend the time to understand their father's decision.

If anyone would like to check our company out or receive references that prove we are a reputable company, we would be happy to give you hundreds of references from customers who keep coming back because of the quality of our products and the excellent service we provide.
