Used false advertising to gain business. Advertising has license number of different company. Motti Vaknin, owner of license allows Shon Makaton to do business with his license, though illegal. Mottin Vaknin told us "Shon is okay. Works for me." But now is saying he doesn't to avoid legal action and having his license revoked. Shon admitted that Motti had a letter prepared saying he could no longer use his license but dated 6 mos. prior so we "can't touch him".
Shon Makaton of Red Rose Construction and International Development Corp. took a $13,000 deposit for our kitchen remodel when only $1,000 max is mandated by law. Took an additional $9,200 when deomolition started.
Shon Makaton hired subcontractors to do work on our home even though his advertisment said, "No subcontractors!" and when we asked him if they were subcontractors, he lied and said they were his guys. The subs admitted they had subcontracted with Shon and this was their first job with him.
Work was VERY substandard and framing, footings, electical and plumbing will have to be redone. The list gets bigger each day we uncover more substandard work that was covered to hide.
Shon will not give us our money back even though most of the work he sub contracted was not started and what was done will have to be redone. We asked for our deposit and he will not return it.
Motti Vaknin, who's company, International Services Co. and International Carpet, our contract is with, refuses to respond to our request for money since he doesn't believe he can be effected.
Shon has lied about his credentials, his business practices and the amount of money he has "lost" over our job. He has a total of $22,200 and we have a 4'x10 addition that needs more repairs than it's worth.
He's also working the same rip-off with other individuals at this time. Please BEWARE!!!!
