I entered my photo into their contest. When I entered there were no entry fees, and not once did they state that there would be any cost involved. I received a letter stating that my photo won in their contest, and that I could purchase a book Endless Journeys from them for $69. That my photo would be published in that book. I chose at that time not to order the book. Awhile later I received an email saying that I won a trophy and a bronze medal. The cost would only be $169 plus s&h to receive my prizes, since they claimed I was unable to attend the convention, when I was never notified of any convention to pick up my prizes.
This is a short paragraph of an email I was sent by them..."Before going any further, Lynn, let me make one thing clear . . . you were selected for publication on the basis of your previously published photo. Your new photo, which you will select for this edition, will be accepted for publication on the basis of your previous accomplishments. Your prior photo was among the most interesting pictures we have encountered, so we wish to feature your artistry in this special edition and make this special prize money available to you and the others who have been chosen. You are under no obligation whatsoever to submit any entry fee or subsidy payment, or to make any purchase of any kind."
But then they ask for money to claim my prizes. They are a complete rip-off and should be stopped before they scam even more people. The worst part is they have a personal photograph of a family member that who knows what they are going to do with it, and probably will cash in themselves using my photo.

I hate the International Library Of Poetry

I've read most of the reports on poetry.com and boy are they some jerks, it burns deeper because for a second you believe your talent or lack their of has been recognized, and to see that this organization is playing on your vanity to extort money out of us poets...is just evil. It seriously pained me to read read these reports, because I do love poetry, I love it with all my heart and soul, and while I'm not really good, I sooo want to be, and for second, I thought maybe this organization thought that I was, maybe they saw something in my writing that was exceptional.
That is the thing that burns like an open wound oozing with betrayal all on account of one's own gullibility, I guess I have mostly my self to blame for believing. I received a letter from them also, stating that I was selected for publishing, and that I was a "semi finalist" my art was recognized ect.. and I was so happy, I then checked my email in junk, (I had them on spam) and saw that I was was invited to the convention in Las Vegas and selected win some stupid award, and maybe 20,000 dollars, but now I'm not going(obviously) and I'm most definitely not buying their stupid "book" I loathe them deeply. They've fooled us all into thinking our art was good in their eyes, but we're are nothing but another statistic, mindless fools, another dollar. I hope they fall to pieces for what they have done, I would rather be not good, than be nothing, and to them you and I are nothing.
I'm glad I never told my family that I was so stupid, I'm glad I never paid for anything, and for those of you who have, my deepest condolences, may your pockets see a better day,and your hearts heal from humiliation.
