International Library of Poetry Poetry.com HAD me fooled too!!Owings Mills Maryland

I thought Poetry.com was a great place to post my poetry and I loved entering the Poetry In Motion contest. Imagine how excited I was when I found out I was the weekly winner of that contest was told I had won $100.00!!

Well, my excitement soon faded. I have been waiting for 2 years for the $100.00 that they promised me. I have contacted them numerous times (about 10) and EVERYTIME I do, the first thing they ask is for my correct address ~ just to make sure they have the right one. I have lived here for 4 years and I have told them that each time. They insult my intelligence!

I have come to the conclusion that no matter how many phone calls I make to them, I will never see the $100.00 that I was so excited about and PROMISED I would receive. They have put me off time and time again, shown me nothing but a lack of respect and now show the saddest kind of predictablity.

By the way, their so called "Anthologies" they want you to pay an arm and a leg for are cheap, poorly done and do not give the poets the space or dignity they deserve. Yes I did receive one, but had I known in advance what a disappointment it would be to see my poem in print, I would not have paid one red cent for it and have since requested a refund. It will probably end up being a waste of my time like trying to get the prize I was promised has been.

I am writing this in the hope that it will save at least one person the time, the energy and the money that the Library of Poetry will try to extort out of them. Not to mention the utter disappointment and humiliation they will bring.
