International Satellite Communications ,FAIRCALL Charged a connect fee and outrageous minute usage from payphone -not stated anywhere on phone or duging call Nationwide

While on a trip to Utah, I used the payphone at the Sandy Expo Center. I did not have enough change and decidedd to use my credit card. I thoroughly read the information on the phone before using it and recently discovered that the charges to my credit card were inflated.

I was totally flabergasted to see my 2 minute call was $10.03! Especially since the phone advertised 20 minute calls anywhere in the US for $1.00.

When I contacted the number on my credit card statement (listed FAIRCALL), the customer service rep answered "International Satellite Communications". He showed no surprise when told of my observation and stated "There is a $4 connect fee ma'am and $3 for every minute." "Your call was 2 minutes" "It's because you are not part our phone service" WOW! You mean if I had a payphone at my house I would get a discounted rate?

He reported to me that they have phones all over the US -in convention centers, airports, etc. I would have clearly NOT used the payphone if it stated that the charges were going to be something other than advertised.
It should have clearly stated that the call you are making is $3 per minute and that there is a one time connection rate of $4. If my leg was broken, perhaps I would have paid that amount, but it wasn't and I never intended to pay so much.

Outrageous and unethical!
