I was recently in Cabo San Lucs and was fishing with the Edith Fleet. Hector "The Director & Fish Collector" who manages this fleet and who is also promoting International Taxidermy, arranged for us to go out on the boat Edith I. It was an ok boat and we had an average day of fishing. However this complaint is to alarm people who get talked into mounting a fish with Internmational Taxidermy.

The issue here is that we were told that our mount would be built by a reputable american company. I have heard of them and they do nice work. However, it turns out that my mount was built by a local mexica company called International Taxidermy. Their fish mounts are absolutely awful. They use some sort of pastic body to build the fish which they then simply glue the skin of some fish onto. I doubt it was the fish I caught. Other real parts are also glued onto this plastic body and they use some cheap looking plaster in an effort to smooth things over. The paint job is also the worst I've ever seen.

What confused me was that the catalog I saw was from the US company (I do not want to name them here since they have nothing to do with this complaint). The catalog is displaying beautiful fiberglass reproductions with great looking airbrushed fishmounts. However after I signed a contract beliving I am dealing with thie US company I am told that he fishmount will come from International Taxidermy. This is a complete scam. This company is litterally portraying themselfs to work for the US company to get customers hooked, then they deliver a cheaper and lesser quality product.

Do not do business with International Taxidermy. Make sure you work directly with representatives from the US comapny who also have an office in the Marina in Cabo. They are the only reputable fishmount company in this marina.

International Taxidermy

AUTHOR: Acorn - ()

POSTED: Friday, November 14, 2014

I have lived in Cabo San Lucas for almost 10 years. International Taxidermy just started doing business here about a year ago. The only other Taxidermy that was here for a very long time is Gray. I have seen Internationals fish mounts and they are good. I have met several people that have purchased them and are very happy with their mount. International has been on the mainland Mexico for years. So they have done thousands of mounts. International has their own catalog I have seen it. I also have known Hector for several years and know him as a honest person and always does right by tourist. As I read your complaints about taxidermy there seems to be some about Gray the American Co. this person says to use. There are only two taxidermy offered here as far as I know and you make your own choice.

i also went to Cabao San Lucas and used the same fleet Edith with Hector. i dont understand why you are posting such bad comments of International Taxidermy. their work is professional. i had my striped marlin mounted with them and are very satified with their work. what you are stating is a complete lie. why is it that you dont want to mentioned the name of the company that supposley is better than International Taxidermy? if it were to be better you wouldnt have a problem promoting their name. correct!?

i can prove to you or anyone that International Taxidermy does a great and professional job. i have a contract , pictures and the actual finished mount, and i am completely satified. now remembering when i got off the boat a lady approched me stating that International Taxidermy was a fraud company, to mount with Grey Taxidermy but didnt pay attention to her. i figured that the person was upset with International Taxidermy or was in need of work. to my understanding if someone is better than you, you would do anything to give them a bad name. as i was reading the 3 comments supposley from different people stating bad comments about International Taxidermy i came to a conclusion that the same person wrote these. the same message is written but words were changed. WOW!! at the very bottom they all state the same thing. thats why im not going to bother to comment on the other messages. since they all come from the same person.

are you getting paid by the company that you dont want to name? why not put the company name that you think is better? or are you to ashamed of the company? if you wanted to mount with a company from US then why go to Mexican teritory? it doesnt make sense. now you got me confused! any one who reads the messages you posted are going to know that these messages are all set up by the company that you are to ashamed to mentioned.

to close this message i just want to say that i am a real client and im not ashamed to mention the company that mounted my striped marlin which was a real skin mount and can prove it!.

thank you International Taxidermy for your professional work. thanks to Hector and Edith Fleet for the wonderful experiece!

very satified client,

yesenia
