===========================================

I agree that many people feel cheated and misled by The Internet Income Initiative scam. Yes this is a scheme, but their terms and conditions do state that you must unsubscribe within 7 days which is where I ran into their second tier of BS.

I DID read their terms and conditions. I DID unsubscribe from their webpage within 7 days, and was still charged $72.12 anyway! When I called in to clear up the mistake, the agent on the phone stated that I had to "call in" to unsubscribe, even though their "unsubscribe" button on their website leads you to believe that it will do what it says it will do. The agent told me that the unsubscribe button was only to be removed from the "mailing list," but at the time there was no disclaimor that let me know that. I was only greeted with a notice that said: "Internet Income Initiative will remove you from our list" after I unsubscribed. Not: "our mailing list, and please unsubscribe by phone." And so, I felt it was done. I patted myself on the back that I actually read the terms and conditions, followed the directions, and dodged a $72 charge.

I was wrong. $72.12 was taken from my debit card that I gave for the $3.88 shipping for the Google Pro gimmick. I never saw any text in the terms and conditions either that stated I had to specifically "call in" to unsubscribe. After an escalating conversation with the customer service rep, she did agree to refund half of my money, and the other half would be refunded when I send back the "free" item that I paid $3.88 to have shipped originally. I requested an immediate credit to my debit account of the entire amount. It was refused. I asked to speak with her manager. Refused. I finally had nowhere to go in the conversation but to trust that my money would be returned, and to go to the now ridiculous effort to get my money back.

After my first conversation with "customer service," I immediately went to the Internet Income website to re-apply the "unsubscribe" button and see what it told me. There was nothing at that time (Feb 17, 2009) that stated that the unsubscribe button would only remove me from the "mailing list." Three weeks had come and gone however, and no refund credited to my account, so today, I called to find out what was going on, and it appears the Rep had no record of my refund, and there had been a "mistake."

I was absolutely stonewalled on very reasonable customer requests, and now, I will be contacting my lawyer. The Rep today told me that the "unsubscribe" section on the website does say that it will only take the customer off the mailing list, but that is a disclaimor feature that was not there before, and was obviously inserted recently for very obvious reasons.

THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. Even if everything they are doing is "legal," they are making the process very confusing to the customer, drowning them with fine print, and then banking on the human error they so purposely cause. Their terms and conditions actually reserve the right to CHANGE the terms and conditions! Without notice! Even though the consumer agrees to terms and conditions as a condition of sale! Unbelievable. iF YOU HAVE BEEN SLIGHTED TOO, SPEAK UP! AGENCIES NEED YOU TO HELP SHUT CORRUPT COMPANIES LIKE THESE DOWN!
