Ira Hartman Purchased item that was stated to be insured, arrived damaged, seller refused refund White Bluff Tennessee

I purchased a piece of art from this seller. His add said he was going through foreclosure and had to liquidate. Item purchased stated item was insured and the total I paid for shipping and insurance was $75.00. Package arrived damaged. Seller refused to put a claim into shipping company because it was never insured - even though I paid for it. Seller sent email stating "you bought it, you own it". Told me to go get estimates for repair. Sent repair estimates to seller, but he refused to pay. He was always looking to make a "deal" that resulted in no loss to him and forcing me to keep the piece. Last message asked that I return piece and he would refund me for less than half I paid for item. Lesson learned: Any time an item is stated to be insured, ask seller to send proof of the insurance.
