I searched the web looking for a custom bumper for my truck.
I decided to go with Iron Bull Bumpers as their product looked great on my type of truck. I emailed the company for a quote, and shortly after received a quote from Cameron. It was a good price $1,200 with a 3 week build time. Payment went
smoothly, and I was looking forward to my new bumper.
Then the wheels fell off..
3 weeks past, the time that my bumper was expected to be shipped and I had not heard from the company. I send an email to Melanie, who I assumed was the secretary as she sent the order confirmation, asking when I would expect a tracking number. 2 days go by without a response. So I call the company. I have the misfortune of talking to Cameron..
I identify myself, state I have ordered a bumper 3 weeks ago, and ask him when it will ship. I dont know he rudely grumbles at me. Shocked, I repeat myself. Everthing here over 2 weeks is done, contact out shipping department he barks at me. I ask him to put me through to them. Use their email on the website he yells back at me. Ok, whatever we all have bad
days, maybe this was his. I email shipping at their company name.
Within 2 hours I get an email back from their shipping department (Mexican IP address) that my bumper is there, ready to ship, and some generic stuff about you will recived an email when it is a day away, and a call when it 1 hour away Great I think, my bumper is on its way!!
I send an email on Thursday to shipping again, since my bumper was to ship yesterday, its possible the email with tracking got lost. No response.
2 days later its Friday and I still do not have a tracking number or any indication the bumper has been shipped, so I decide to give Cameron another call. Phone rings many times, goes to voicemail. Leave a message asking him to call me back. 3 hours later nothing. I call again, same thing many rings no answer. By now I am getting worried about my purchases, and
get the feeling I am being avoided. I leave a message asking him to call me back, my bumper was to ship 3 days ago and still nothing. I suggest that I might refer this matter to my credit card company I used to pay.
Return call right away. Its Cameron. Either every day is a bad day for that guy, or hes about the most belligerent
salesman you could ever hope to meet. Why are you calling me he ask. Well, Im calling about my bumper that was supposed to ship on Wednesday. We ship Monday, Wednesday and Friday, why are you calling he snaps back. Umm my bumper was to ship on WEDNESDAY, its FRIDAY, so that means I hit 2 shipping days.. I dont know any more than you, you have to email them Shocked at how the owner of a company, who took my money for his product dosent know anything more than I do, I press on. Maybe you could find out?.. Fine Ill do what you can do an email them, Ill CC you the email he barks at me like I am wasting his time. That ends the call.
Needless to say that email never came through.
Monday I call again, and get the very pleasant as always Cameron. Again I say who I am. What do you want, didnt you
get your emails. No Cameron, I didnt.. They must be in your junk then.. Little does he know I have my own hosted domain the email comes through, without any junk or spam filters. Nor was I having any problems receiving any other emails.. Its shipping Friday but we will try to get it out before he says like I am wasting his time. thanks I say, knowing in the back of my mind, I doubt this is going to happen.
Friday comes, no email, no sign of the bumper. Yup, time to call Mr. Wonderful Cameron again. Try calling, no answer, try again no answer, but funny being about 1pm on a Friday.. So I try again with my number blocked, I get Cameron.. I identify myself and ask about the bumper. Why are you calling me? Cameron barks. I state the obvious, Its Friday, you told me me
bumper will ship by now, I still have nothing.. What are you calling me on a Friday he says. Dumbfounded, I tell him again, because you told me it was shipping. I dont know Ill email shipping he snarks back. Ok youll cc me I futilely ask. yep click.. Of course no email.
I give it 3 hours so its 4, near the end of the day, and call back. No answer. Blocked number, no answer.. Seems Cameron is trying to avoid me
I contacted my credit card company about this scam of a company. They cannot do anything for 30 days, which is 4 days from now. Im sure they are going to have to be the ones to settle this and get me out of this mess.
I made a terrible mistake not researching this company before buying. Forums are filled with the same horror stories of this sort of thing, and Camerons wonderful personality and avoidance techniques. STUPID ME..
Avoid doing business with this company at all costs, or if you have to, maybe order it through a dealer that has the bumper in stock rather than dealing with this nightmare.
