This is my personal Irontown Homes Review. I had a horrible experience last year with Irontown Homes in Utah, a modular home developer. irontownhomes.com/ They were recommended by modular home designers, and perhaps they treat the designers better, or individuals that build high-end homes. My modular home was 1,300 square feet, with two bedrooms and two baths, and I paid Irontown close to $225K.

First of all, I was told the modules would be delivered in early June 2016, and the stitching of modules by my local general contractor would take about 10 days. Based on that, I applied for a cash out mortgage, since I had paid cash for everything. The modules were finally delivered at the end of July, and the stitching took five weeks, mostly due to problems with Irontown not sending missing parts or replacing defective parts. I finally received my Certificate of Occupancy Septemeber 1, 2016, by which time I lost my cash out mortgage since I had retired and employment could not be verified.

Unfortunately, my nightmare was just beginning. It took until the end of December 2016 for Irontown to repair defective things in my home, including the electric fireplace, a mechanical room that looked like third graders did it, etc. Furthermore, I had paid for items which were never delivered including electrical preparation for solar and had to replace lights and other items that were broken and pay for them out of pocket.

Chad Black, the Construction Manager at Irontown, was in charge of warranty work and has the worst customer service possible. linkedin.com/in/chadblack/ I was repeatedly lied to over the course of several months. He also refused to pay my general contractor for the work to complete my home, including work required by my county for the Certificate of Occupancy, replacement of inside materials that were defective, doors hung upside down, correcting defective design on the front porch, and the list goes on and on. I paid my general contractor myself so he did not have to take a loss as 'unrecoverable' charges.

I would never recommend Irontown to anyone. I had several friends who were interested in Irontown Homes and I told them to stay away, based on my experience. I am not by nature a litigious person and do not wish to tie my money and time up in litigation against Irontown. I can make my voice heard through social media, the Internet, the Attorney General of Nevada, etc.
