On 07/12/2005, I went into IRVINE BWM with my own financing through Capital One. I drove off with a used 3-series. I get a call 17 days later on my work number from their finance manager, asking for my payroll stub. THEY GOT IT THE FIRST TIME AROUND. Unknowingly to them I was stranded on the side of a busy highway as my car broke down so I was unable to return the call till the following week. I return the call, go down to the dealership and drop off the paper work. (They paid for partial repairs.)

The following week, I get a call while I am on the east coast and they tell me that my finance did not go through with Capital One, then verbatim Can you put down any money, such as 5,000.00. (I didn't need to put any money down originally.) I said, NO. And then Shari, the finance DIRECTOR said, How about 500.00? What the hell is this crazy lady asking for, 5,000.00 or 500.00?? I said I will deal with it when I get back.

I get back to town a week later, go into the dealership and talk to Shari. She is now telling me that I have to put 700.00 down and my APR went up almost 3%. I said No, take the car back and return mine. She said she will see what she can do. I then hired an attorney not to save the 700.00 but to fight this damned dealership. I called Capital One; they never received any papers from Irvine BMW.

After going back and forth between the attorney and the dealership, we come to an agreement and I sign my papers on 08/28/2005. Nonetheless, going into the dealership to do this I was not treated as valued customer, after all I only spent 20,000 with them by far the least expensive of their cars. Before I sign, they and not far from demeaning stared at me and say, Are you sure, is this what you want, and are you happy. I hated to see that you thought you needed to get an attorney? Geez, almost 2 months later and they act arses.

Finally, as I wait for my DMV tags (car came from out of state, tags showed expired but were paid.) I get pulled over in early\mid-October. I show the officer my 90 day sticker; he said it expires in a few days, please get it taken care of. I said okay. 2 days later, I get pulled over again. Officer says, it has been 90 days and tags show expired, we can tow your car. So I immediately went down to the DMV and they say no paper work has been submitted. I (now late for work) swing by the dealership, I wait 20 minutes for someone to come downstairs. The lady acting as fake as her body, says the paperwork was submitted, she will call me and let me know the status. I get a call back that day from the dealership stating that the DMV rejected my paper work some time ago because a VIN-Verification was not completed on the car. She will have someone contact me to have that completed. I play follow up with Irvine BMW for 2 weeks longer until a 3rd party vendor completed the VIN-VERIFICATION. 2 weeks after that, which is a few days ago (11/12/2005) I follow up with the dealership, after 3 days they called me back. They submitted my papers back to the DMV on 11/10/2005. Sorry, didn't mean to burden them with all this paper work that should have been done in July, or AT LEAST in AUGUST WHEN THE DEAL WAS SIGNED.

It is now 11/15/2005 and I bought the car on 07/12/2005, ask me if I have my tags that will complete the entire sale process?

I had better experiences back in the day with Plymouth and Volkeswagon.
